The Hotel Kristal is situated very close to the centre of the town, down a side street and the entrance is a bit difficult to find. The rooms are basic but clean, the bathroom was clean and a good size. The air conditioning worked well. The view from the bedroom and bathroom windows were uninteresting, you could nearly reach over to the building opposite.
Noise could be a problem, the walls seemed very thin and you could hear people in the narrow corridors on a regular basis, you could also hear the sound of running water from the neighbours whenever they used the bathroom.
Breakfast was basic, cold meats and cheese with cereal, pastries, bread and buns, coffee and tea etc and juice. For those who needed something hot, there was a bot of hot beans on the end.
Dinner was also a bit basic, plenty of salad to choose from, a couple of choices of hot meals, soup, bread and fruit. There was also some fruit and ice cream for desert.
Drinks were available on request, wine, beer, water etc.
The staff were very friendly and regularly kept refreshing the food.
There are two terraces, one near the restaurant and bar for drinks and smokers, the other was a solarium, walk through the bar and through the adjacent exit. Sun beds were available but you have to provide your own towels.
The bar was a good size but rarely used by anyone. Staff are not readily available at the bar and you have to ring the bell for assistance.
I enjoyed the break but you get what you pay for.
