"Quiet and very comfortable hotel next to the beach"
Pros: - Beautiful hotel and grounds - Good pool (one pool) - Good food - Lovely rooms - Fairly quiet Cons: - Bar staff are unfortunately rather unfriendly - Prices are too high - You would need a car/taxi to get to Puerto Banus - When there is an event on e.g. a wedding, the place becomes very loud (I was awake until 5am with loud music which I could hear from my room) - Nearest shop is 15-20 minute walk away

"Excellent short break!"
Just came back from a 5 night stay. Perfect in every way. Hotel very clean, helpful staff, loved our room which had a mountain view to the right and sea view to the left. We found the breakfast first class with lots of choice and a great start to the day. Some mornings there was a pianist on the terrace. The rap music at the pool by the beach wasn't really our taste but the kids seemed to like it. The sun beds were very comfortable with fresh fluffy towels.

"Club Calahonda"
We were allocated to Club Calahonda on arrival and we were really pleased. It's quieter that it's sister resort Club Marbella. We had a huge two bedroom apartment which overlooked the smaller pool with a full kitchen and maid service twice a week. We were close to the beach and shops (there's a fantastic Mercadona supermarket about 5 mins away and a McDonald's if you're desperate for a take away!) and we were about a 10 min walk to the "Strip" where the restaurants and bars are located. The only draw back is that the restaurant at Club Calahonda is only open in the evening and it wasn't especially good, but there's plenty of choice elsewhere, and there are very few activities or entertainment on site but you can go to Club Marbella (about a 5 min walk away) which has a full programme of activities and entertainment. Be aware, this is a timeshare resort and you will get a call from the local RCI rep who is lovely and they do have some fantastic holiday opportunities if you're interested

"Great hotel within tropical gardens close to beach"
Our experience didn't get off to a good start. The rooms key cards didn't work, which meant going back to reception. An additional bed (which had been requested wasn't in the room) another call to reception. When it did arrive, it took another call for the bedding to arrive. The porter delivered our laggage, he showed us around the room, explained the safe, air-conditioning, WiFi Nexus tablet, I pod etc. He mentioned the hotel was very busy and suggested we make reservations for dinner, if we wanted to eat at one of the resorts many restaurants. We followed his advice and spoke to the concierge who in turn was to book our selected venues and inform us by leaving a note in room. That didn't happen. Again another trip to reception for an apology and explanation and to be informed they had been too busy! However, once those issues had been addressed the stay was great. The hotel grounds are beautiful, well cared for tropical gardens, meandering paths and a bubbling stream running down towards the beach. The pools were clean. The breakfast offered a massive variety to select from, the quality was very good. The restaurants cater for many different tastes. We experienced the Del Mar, Sea grill, Thai Gallery, Serafina, Bibo and Rachels (poolside bar) all food was enjoyable. We played tennis, hiring court and rackets at the resort, the facilities were excellent, if a little expensive. The rackets hired were poor quality, take your own if you like to play. Staff were pleasent

"Marbella Playa Hotel Gran Confort"
We really enjoyed our stay at the Marbella Playa Hotel! The employees were friendly, although a bit disorganized when it came to payment and charging things to the room (not unusual for Spain.) The pool and beach facilities were great, although you have to pay extra for the sun beds on the beach. A taxi or car rental is needed to get to Marbella center. If you miss breakfast you can't order food until 12:30 when the beach bar opens, but there is an Open Cor supermarket about 5 minutes walk from the hotel so that was convenient. The water slides and kiddie pool looked fun, I would definitely recommend this to families with children, however as students in our early 20's we still had a great time.

"Overall I was Happy with the hotel. Would go back"
Overall I was happy with the hotel after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor. The hotel was clean and the staff welcoming and very helpful both at reception/pool and restaurant. The pool area had lots of activatity for both adults and children. If you did want to visit the Aqua park then there is a free shutle bus that leaves the hotel every 10/15 mins which was fantastic. After reading some of the reviews regarding the food at lunch time and in the evening I can tell you that the was plenty of variety and the food tasted good (kids loved the desert section). The only negative comments I can give about this hotel is that you are out of the way of any shops so you would have to catch a Bus into town but if you want a relaxing holiday with the kids by the pool with no shops etc then this hotel is great. Would recommend this hotel and would go back
