Very cozy get away. Definitely off grid - cell service was nonexistent - just what we needed.Real slice of peace and comfort getting back to nature and connecting.
Was a cool little spot to stay the night. Payed 144 for one night which was to steep. Everything was nice and some cool ingenuity, but the pictures did look a little nicer. Still a great spot and great host though
The property is as described. The property manager was in quick contact with me and sent me all the information I needed and was prompt and polite when I wanted additional information. The cabin is very cute and stocked with the essentials along with instructions how to use the facilities that are very clear and easy to use. The property is very quiet but also full of life and I'm really enjoyed hearing all the birds in the morning and all the frogs at night. We even got to watch a heron go fishing along with an armadillo foraging. It really does feel like Snow White's cabin.
My fiance and I spent a few nights at the end of December at The Hollow for my birthday, and it was exactly what I was looking for. We both had a very busy year starting two businesses while managing our jobs, so we were really in need of turning our phones off, and spending time together in nature.
The host was VERY responsive, and quickly troubleshooted any issues we had (some may have been user errors, lol)
The outdoor cooking setup was a dream and being a chef, I had a blast preparing coffee, steaks, burgers, pancakes with blueberry compote, and much more.
When we do something like this again, we may not even look anywhere else and just go back to The Hollow, that's how great it was.
Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful place!
Mrs.Lara. I want to Thank you so much for allowing me to experience what I did this weekend.. I truly loved it and felt like the short time we stayed wasn't long enough. I will most definitely be back in the near future.. A few more times of Off the Grind is what I truly need. It definitely humbles you in ways hard to explain. Thank you again..
Off the grid was something brand new to me.. so we will be more prepared 😉 next.. the shower was amazing... The night fishing was the best.. had a few bites.. got the mess scared out of me a few times.. but I would most definitely do it all over again.. you have a perfect little paradise..
I wanted to try something new with my wife and get away from our modern world and have a couple days of peace and quite. I loved it and it was exactly as expected "off grid." My wife also thought it was beautiful unfortunately she wasn't able to relax due to fear of animals or being in the woods at night. It just wasn't for her, regardless great spot, cute little shed and a great way to take a breathe of fresh air.
Stayed here for the weekend and it was an absolutely perfect little getaway. It's definitely not for those who are accustomed to all the luxuries of city living and that is one of the many things that make it great. We will definitely be coming back for another stay.
I absolutely LOVED this off grid tiny cabin. I honestly wish I could stay forever! I love being able to put away all the noise and the phone and just get away which personally I needed it so much! I definitely plan to come back for longer than just a day like this time
Thank you
So I would give it a great review however in the pictures the pond was clear of debri, vegetation , etc. one of the main reasons we chose this listing was for fishing which was almost impossible since the majority of the pond was literally covered in lily pads and our lines kept getting stuck and we lost many bobbers and hooks. You can fish right off the dock but the only thing you’ll catch is turtles . Half the solar lights did not work and the ones that did were more for looks than actual lighting . We also ran out of firewood our first night which wasn’t a huge deal because we camp often so we went and got our own but at the price point per night I feel like we shouldn’t have had to do that . I did have to contact the host because the solar battery inside the shed only charged our phones part way before it would start loudly beeping to tell us it was dead . One of the host came to check it out after our first night and said it was good then the same thing happened that night and they had to come take the battery to charge elsewhere so with no AC or a fan at night trying to sleep in Georgia summers was awful . Not sure if it fixed the problem because I cut my foot on glass searching for firewood (yes with sandals on) and we had to leave a day early . I know our experience wasn’t as good as others BUT if you are city folks and want to get away from the world or just go have some alone time with your spouse and don’t care about fishing this would be PERFECT for you .
A few things to know before you stay:
-The bed is hard as a rock and there’s only two pillows and one throw pillow so I suggest bringing your own pillows and blankets
-bring size D batteries I can’t stress this enough if the batteries in the lanterns go dead there is not extra batteries laying around
-you have to take your shower before 6 p.m or you won’t be able to take one until after the sun rises the next day
-watch out for the stumps in the driveway one of our tires got stuck on the way out
-bring your own citronella candles and lots of bug spray
-bring your own flashlights !!!!!
-bring paper plates , silverware, cups it sucks trying to wash dishes in the pump sink
-don’t forget trash bags !!!! There is none provided and there is NO trash can
-I would suggest bringing your own portable phone chargers OR the large chargeable batteries with the plug ins just in case the solar battery goes out
-bring toilet paper
-you get one bar of service
