Cool place to stay for short term. Having a private balcony view was the highlight. The room was great but a major complaint was the amount of spiders, inside and outside the room. If they took care to clean up the cobwebs and bugs, this place would be perfect!

The bridge was in full view from the beach. Staff was polite. We asked for a different room after viewing our first economy room. Live spiders on the way. Other remains left on the wall where others were possible killed. The economy rooms were very old rooms. I would never stay here again.

The location was great. We watched the sunrise and fireworks from Mackinaw and St. Ignace all from the balcony of our room. We were also able to watch the ferries, freighters, and even a cruise ship pass through. It was definitely a good spot to relax, enjoy the view, while still being close to town and activities. We will definitely stay there again. The only thing I would improve on would be that the room should have a broom and dustpan available. As careful we were about tracking sand in from the beach, it still got there. 😁

This is a property that has a ton of potential. The view from our room was wonderful. We were in a 2nd floor “refurbished” room. The interior walls and floor were new. Beds were great. Thumbs up. The table in our room, though, was unsafe…the top was not connected to the base (as well as being too big for the space). The balcony could have been great, if it had new flooring and seating-we would have loved to sit out there. The parking lot was under construction due to erosion and it needed to be maintained The pool looked super cool. Indoor/outdoor connected pool. If they continue to make improvements, I would stay here, again.

I would like to first say that “up north” hotels and motels are older and not as up dated as hotels you find in the bigger cities of lower Michigan. That being said this motel had some things going for it that others don’t have. The walls appear to be newer knotty pine which was nice. The best thing about this property was no carpet if you have ever stayed in a hotel with older carpet you know how nice no carpet is. The motel is east of town on a strip of a million hotels/motels. It was still pretty quiet on a Friday night. Couldn’t hear anyone else’s rooms or with the windows closed we couldn’t hear anyone outside. The grounds are ok. It has its own beach and a view of the bridge. They also have places you can have a fire pit. Everything just seemed run down and not clean. The trash in our room wasn’t changed from the last person. The door to the patio was broken. The bathroom window was held together with duct tape. The comforter was stained you get the idea

Room was very clean, freshly redone and adorable. Beds were comfy and the view was great. Within 5 minutes of all major destinations in Mackinaw. Staff was friendly and quick. Would absolutely stay again!

Love Sunrise Beach Motel!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Sunrise. Loved our view from the balcony it was just beautiful to have the window open at night and morning. Room and bathroom were nice and clean. Staff was nice as well. I will consider Sunrise Beach Motel in the future and will highly recommended to family and friends if they ever visit Mackinac Island.
