"We stayed in this beautiful place for 2 weeks and we had such a relaxing stay. The rooms were beautiful and spotlessly clean with everything you needed. Kevin and John were great hosts and were always on hand to help with anything we needed. Breakfast was a delight every morning and set us up for sour day ahead. The atmosphere and scenery were amazing, and we will definitely be booking again. Thanks for having us!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Macael?
The best area to stay in Macael is within the town centre itself, particularly around the Plaza de la Constitución.

This central area is where you'll find the heart of Macael's community and its most popular features. The Plaza de la Constitución is a pleasant square, often bustling with local life, and it's surrounded by traditional buildings. From here, you can easily access the town's key landmarks, such as the Church of Santa María de la Encarnación and the various marble-carving workshops that Macael is famous for. The layout is compact and walkable, making it convenient to explore on foot.

Couples looking for a relaxing and culturally rich experience will appreciate staying in the town centre. It offers easy access to local eateries, where you can sample traditional Andalusian cuisine, and the opportunity to discover the town's unique marble heritage. The evening strolls around the plaza provide a genuine local feel.

For those interested in the town's industrial heritage and the marble industry, the areas slightly outside the immediate centre, towards the marble quarries and processing plants, offer a different perspective. While not residential in the same way, some accommodations might be found there, suiting visitors keen on understanding the region's primary industry up close.
When is the best time to go to Macael?
When planning your visit to Macael, the best times to go are typically during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.

During these periods, you'll experience pleasant temperatures, generally ranging from 18°C to 25°C, making it ideal for exploring the town and its surroundings without the intense heat of summer. The weather is usually sunny with less chance of rain, great for outdoor activities like visiting the Macael Marble Interpretation Centre or taking a stroll through the town's historic areas.

Couples looking for a relaxing trip will find these seasons particularly appealing. The milder weather allows for comfortable walks through the charming streets, enjoying alfresco dining, and visiting local craft shops without the crowds or extreme temperatures. It's also a great time for scenic drives through the Sierra de los Filabres mountains.

Travellers interested in local culture and traditions might also find autumn a good fit, as it can coincide with various local festivals and harvest celebrations in the wider region.
