Beautiful riverfront cabin, second year we have enjoyed a little getaway here, looking forward to next year. Lots of wildlife to enjoy. Highly recommend.
The cabin was just what we needed. It was so quiet! It had everything we needed. If you want to get away from all the business in your life, this is where you want to go!
We enjoyed a relaxing time. The cabin was cozy and charming. Nick was a gracious and helpful host. Would highly recommend for a quiet place to get away.
This was a wonderful, peaceful experience.
The communication beforehand was great, the cabin was clean (no weird smells either!), the ambiance was wonderful.
Lots of wildlife, beautiful river to sit beside...I could to on and on!
This is the kind of place my husband and family long for! Very beautiful, peaceful, remote location. We were only able to spend a couple of days but hope to return and spend more time! So much pride taken in the upkeep and preservation of a precious property.
This cabin is very charming, quiet, and tranquil. It is a slice of paradise. The smell of fresh pine and watching the wild life while drinking coffee in the mornings was very relaxing. My husband and I absolutely loved staying here. Thank you for sharing the cabin’s history and allowing us to rent it.
Lovely setting. Interesting, vintage decor. The screened porch overlooking the creek is wonderful. Hosts were responsive and helpful. Be aware you need to bring linens and clean the cabin when you leave.
I always love staying at the Red Cabin! The constant presence of woodland creatures, the serenity of the Creek flowing through..The peace and quiet it brings my soul is irreplaceable! Nick and Laura are the best! Thanks again for ANOTHER great stay!!!
We can’t say enough about the charm of this cabin. SO clean!!! We relaxed by the creek after spending our days hiking the beautiful trails this area has to offer. The daily visits from the turkeys was an added bonus!!
Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise!!
Very peaceful. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. Wild turkeys came to visit. A lot of birds and squirrels too. Only thing bed was not comfortable at all. But everything else was great. Dawn L
The home is well taken care of with lots of vintage touches that make it feel very nostalgic, like you are borrowing your grandparents cabin up north. The river is beautiful and the family of turkeys who roamed the property were a hoot. Cell reception very low but texts were sent. Very clean and easy to clean at the end of the stay. Also very close to some great Amish stores. A great value for what you get.
It’s not often that I write a review, but in this case it is warranted. The cabin was a true find. Clean , peaceful and well cared for. Wild life was abundant and provided hours of entertainment. It was a short drive to town and other points of interest. We had a chance to speak with Nick the host about the history of the cabin and could see the pride he has for both the cabin and the memories of the man who built it. The cabin is well stocked if you like to cook. The beds are very comfortable. Nick, thank you for sharing this beautiful place with us.
The property was very clean. A little hard to find when you have never been in the area. The guys asked someone and they told him there wasn't such a place and that they were scammed. The one downside was not being able to fish off the dock in front of the cabin we understand the reasoning, but the main reason the three brothers gathered together was to go fishing. We weren't able to find a place to fish. The host was easy to communicate with and the price was reasonable. Great place to just relax.
We love getting away Up North. The cabin has been well maintained with love and pride throughout its life. We enjoyed morning coffee listening to birds and watching lots of wildlife from the porch. The dock was perfect to experience yoga outdoors. The cabin is well equipped and has a great set up for cooking on the gas grill or on the campfire. Big Creek was cool and refreshing during the June heat wave. I even took a quick river tube ride from the main road to the cabin. We never left the property or turned the tv on. Just loved being outside, present in the moment enjoying nature. This is our fourth stay with at Nick and Laura's properties (first at the red cabin). Always great communication. Highly recommend.
Our stay at the Red Cabin was wonderful! My husband was the first one inside, and he came out and said "this is a really nice cabin!" I totally agreed with him! It was a great value for the money and had everything (and more) that you could possibly need - even scotch tape!! Immaculately clean and decorated so cute. Quiet area along the creek - we sat down on the dock and enjoyed the fall day with cocktails. Communication with the owners was first rate - they replied to our texts almost immediately and were very friendly. Ate 3 times at Ma Deeters - met the owner who was super nice, and watched the Lions game on the outside patio TV. Other than having a little trouble finding the cabin the first couple times (especially in the dark!) it was a perfect long weekend! We said we need to come back in the summer and enjoy the creek more. Now that we know how to find it, we'll have to come back!! Thanks for everything!
