Well managed "Old School" hotel.

Well managed with very good food. I appreciated the transparency of Ross, the manager on the times when the generator needed servicing. It is a very challenging time for Zambia but the hotel is still functioning well.

This is a nice place for the money in Lusaka. The only beef I had was their poor communication with us regarding the size of rooms we needed. They set us up on the pool deck, and fortunately we had good weather.

We initially booked a two-night stay at Southern Sun Lusaka, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we needed to extend our visit to five nights. Although the hotel was fully booked, the management went out of their way to accommodate us and carefully made a plan so we could remain comfortably. Their flexibility and willingness to assist truly stood out. The staff in every department were exceptionally helpful, courteous, and professional throughout our stay. From reception to housekeeping to the restaurant team, everyone consistently provided warm and attentive service. I can only say positive things about our experience. We felt genuinely well looked after and would not hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended.

Improved compared to years ago

It was good despite mosquitos in room which was surprising and there was not repellent. Rooms were clean. Services were a bit slow

Good room, decent kitchen, nice environment. The menu could be varied more. The steak could have been tenderer. The Kafue Bream less well cooked. The pool needs cleaning twice a day though. It wasn't clean enough a few times when I wanted to swim.
