Beautiful place for a nice quiet and close to nature vacation. Pros: 1. Beautiful surroundings 2. Quiet and peaceful 3. Easy parking 4. Restaurant inside the property is pretty good. 5. Rooms are clean and well maintained (there are plenty of ants though, however bit expected in this area to be honest) 6. Verizon phone network is quite good, although don’t expect fast internet. Areas may improve: 1. Park tickets are not included, so to get in you need to purchase the tickets separately, however it’s not expensive. 2. Weak WiFi

Location was awesome. Well maintained overall. Only call out... something was wrong with the bed, as soon as we laid down we started sneezing and could not sleep at all the whole night. Room was ok, just the bed!

All about the location here. You're up in the mountains. View was completely obscured by heavy fog, but not much can be done about that. Restaurant food was nice if not a bit overpriced.

wonderful accommodations at Skyland
Our stay was wonderful, although too short. I suggest the average stay to enjoy all available to see and do at Skyland, would be a five day stay. I have been going to Skyline Drive for over 20 years and have always stayed at Skyland Resort for their overall cleaniness of accommodations and the excellent service for receive. Perfect place to stay in the Shenandoah
Skyland is an amazing place to stay for exploring the Shenandoah National Park. The cabins are unique and very well maintained, and also very spacious and comfortable, and the dining hall is really great, with amazing views.

area was great and we did a lot of hiking and sightseeing. was disappointed in eating off plastic and paper but understanding until our last day we stopped at the other resort, and they were not serving on paper and plastic.

Staying inside Shenandoah National Park gave us the opportunity to see one of the best sunrises of our lives. The heat in the cabin was poor. One of the heaters was missing a knob to control the heat so we woke up at 3am because it was 90F in the cabin.

Layout of property is convenient, and offers all a mountain vacationer might ask for except more entree options on the restaurant menu. In addition, I was disappointed for paying such a high amount for the room. This room is without a microwave, clothes closet, nor heat in the bathroom. I truly believe the room should have been only half the price I paid. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant rustic experience.

Skyland was a nice place to stay, and the location is it's biggest attraction, high over the Shenandoah Valley on Skyline Drive. We stayed during peak foilage season so expected to pay a higher fee. The accomodations in a room near the office were, overall, very good. Room was clean and neat and the view of the valley were great, especially since the sun decided to come out that afternoon. We were located very near the Dining Hall, which made getting meals very easy. Some of the other accomodations are quite a bit further from the Dining Hall and people would drive to eat there. The food was very good and the staff friendly. There were a couple of trails on the property and the hike to Stoney Man Outlook was worth it (relatively easy 25-30 min hike). We didn't ride, but Skyland has stables and horseback riding available (can book online). The only downside to our stay was that we could hear every noise in the adjoining room, even our neighbor's snoring, which kept us up. I can't say if this is different in other rooms (our booking called it a Deluxe room). Overall I would recommend Skyland if you're taking a drive on Skyline Drive.

Amazing location but showing it’s age. Could do with some refreshing. The room was very clean and bed comfortable. I could not charge my phone because the USB port was broken. I reported it to the staff and they sent a maintenance person to test it while I was out. When I returned it still didn’t work but they did not leave me a message. I reported that it still didn’t work and was told they did not have a replacement. It would have been nice to have been left a note and for the reception to have a charger to loan on such occasions.

Loved it’s rustic charm. Clean and comfortable. Excellent location- loved the dining room and the patio view. Our room was cozy and quiet. The outdoor lights were turned downward so we could enjoy the stars.

It’s in a good location and has a nice view, but I would recommend just stopping by for a meal at the restaurant. The bed was so old and flat, it was basically just some springs with a thin layer of fabric on top. Doesn’t meet the requirements for a hotel, I couldn’t sleep at all.
