"Clean property and great location for the ferry. Amazing views to sit and watch everything go by. Nice parking and outdoor area. Really nice get you in / breakfast packs. Comfy bed but we found it very bright with street lights front and through the skylights at the back. It was quite wet when we stayed so we were inside more than normal, tv is in a very random location / high making it not too comfy for watching from the sofa. Goud value though for what we got, we'd stay again."

"The star rating doesn’t do justice to this guest house. I’ve stayed in worse 5 star hotels. The host has put his heart and soul into providing his guests the best possible break they could wish for. Nothing is too much trouble and the breakfast, well, all I’ll say is if you are eating out the night before leave room for breakfast they are the stuff of legend We have found a gem and can’t wait to have the opportunity to return."

"The hotel is clearly at the beginning of a new journey which will be very interesting to follow as the property has lots of character, is steeped in history and is being beautifully restored and although is a work in progress, don’t let this put you off as the hotel is very charming and beautiful inside. An excellent warm welcome by the host/owner and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed for one night as a couple as part of our trip around Scotland and our sea view room was exceptionally decorated, full of character and was very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was included in the price as standard and the owner had obviously gone to a lot of trouble as there was more than enough choice, the individual cafetière of coffee being a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend this hotel"

"A really impressive building - we’ve passed by before and always hoped to stay here. The building is quirky and has so much going for it… probably several £££ million to bring it up to 4* standards, but the staff were super friendly and the room we were assigned was brilliant and had lovely views over the port. Also accommodated for our dog which was really appreciated. The restaurant served a great dinner too and the Scottish breakfast gave us a cracking start on our onward journey. Thank you !"

"Came back to this flat for second time as it had everything you need. There’s been a few changes made to it ie. new walk in shower which I think makes it more adult friendly. The stairs when you walk in the close are a bit tired and daunting to take suitcases up but still manageable. I had a chat with a couple of the neighbours and they’re really friendly. The location is perfect. All in all I’d stay here no problem again in the future as my wife and I really enjoyed our stay again."

"First time we stayed here and won’t be the last ! Already rebooked The apartment is close for everything you need - town- pubs- shops - Morrisons - views - ferries you name it ! Right on the front with spectacular views over the waters and the elevated platform in the bay view window with seats and binoculars is an added bonus for checking out the wildlife. A well equipped kitchen with a great cooker and lots of pans and crockery- but - i would recommend bringing a casserole dish though as I couldn’t find one The garden is beautiful too"
