Overall our stay was okay, but we were unable to control the temperature in the room and the TV signal was intermittent even though there were no storms in the area. The breakfast was good expect for the last day of our stay when they had run out of food with an hour left of service to go.

This hotel is definitely old and dated, but nevertheless was clean and comfortable. Even though my room was right near an outside door and vending machine, it was still very quiet. The bed was comfortable and I was able to get good sleep. If you’re on a tight budget and need a decent place to stay, I think Ashmore is a good option.

It is a budget stay and for the price it was good. More attention to cleaning and upkeep suggested, but the bed was comfy and a good sleep was what we needed. Shower was hot even though the shower head needs replaced. Some wallpaper damage was unsightly in the bathroom. But the room was large.

The manager here is wonderful. Upon checking in, we did have a slight issue with another member of the staff. Our room reservation for 6 people had been changed somehow from a queen suite (2 queen's with a pullout couch & kitchenette) to a regular king room. When we discovered the mistake and tried to change the room, he argued that I had made the error in booking. When I showed him the receipt, he said that all the queen suites were full but there was a queen room available. He was extremely rude about the whole incident. When we saw the manager the next morning and informed her of what had happened. She immediately apologized for his behavior. She also allowed our family to eat breakfast, even though it was about 10 min past past the time the dining room was open because he had also told us the wrong time for the breakfast hours. She wrote down our name and information and offered us compensation at the hotel if we were to need a place to stay in that area again. She did her best to make reparations for the actions and attitude of the errant staff member. The hotel itself is dated, but clean and well-maintained. Overall, we would stay here again.

Horrible experience. Both A/C units barely worked. Had to buy a fan from Walmart to even get the air moving. Both TV's didnt work, wouldn't turn on or coonect to the dish. Couldn't find an employee or get through to the front desk by phone. Neither phone in our room worked, and when I tried calling by cell phone, all I got was the line busy tone. Multiple phone calls by myself and my wife. Couldn't find the WIFI password, and guess what... Couldn't ask the front desk for the WIFI password, cause no one was around. Stay at your own risk. The ONLY good thing about this hotel was the restaurants and Walmart literally being in walking distance.

The restroom was bad holes on the wall and found a roach in the bathroom, air worked but had to mess with it a lot, the tv kept freezing, there was homeless guy just laying on the floor outside. The hallways the paper was coming off the walls, the room we got was bad it needed a lot of work. They need to fix up the hotel it was nice last time we stayed so though it would be the same but it’s like falling apart. The guy in the front check in was little rude. But beds were good and air was good after you figured a way to keep the room cold and the button on the air conditioner were broken so you had to mess with it. And then the shower was bad the tile was broken. O er all needs a lot of work. But beds were good

First at check-in the original room they gave was dirty. Filthy stains on the couch requested another room. The second room they gave me bathroom was dirty. Toilet was dirty. Covers on the bed where dingy couches disgusting stain, venom dirty I did ask my second nightmare for the room to be cleaned again because the bathroom was dirty and the toilet was dirty and I wanted fresh sheets. I did not receive any of it so when I did return to the room I cleaned my bathroom, my toilet, stripped the sheets off the bed and use sheets from a family member that was local …. I just wish the staff there are mindful that people are paying for clean rooms and making sure the rooms are cleaned and up to par.

After an impromptu decision to visit our youngest at Tech, we booked a room at The Ashmore Inn and Suites in Lubbock for the holiday weekend. We’ve stayed there, as well as many other Lubbock hotels over the last 30 years. Ashmore has never been anything fancy or fantastic, but clean, safe and reliable. This visit was horrible. The hotel is under construction, with various parts of the hotel littered with random trash and projects. The halls and stairways are filthy. Check in wasn’t friendly & welcoming, just matter of fact. The key box to enter the hotel doesn’t work very well, so you have to scan your key numerous times in order for the door to open )sign next to the box even says so). However the other external door was left completely unlocked because it was “broken”, or easy access for construction workers. Got to our room and had the same issue with scanning both keys. Room was relatively clean and air conditioner was working great. Bed was not comfortable and the sheets were stained. The tv had no remote, and the cable box remote wouldn’t work on the tv. We were tired so we went to sleep immediately. The next day we let the front desk know the tv and phone did not work (as we tried to call the front desk). After several calls from my cell, the receptionist came to the room and confirmed, the remote did not work, nor did the other 2 he brought with him. The tv controls weren’t working either other than to power on and off. He offered to switch

This is a old motel style facility and I mean old. If you don't mind sheetrock exposed and peeling away from the ceiling from water damage or wallpaper screwed into the wall to keep it up, this motel is for you. When we walked into the room, it was evident the carpet hadn't been vacuumed and room cleaned. The next morning I talked to the manager about the condition of the room and asked if our room could be cleaned that day. The manager seemed to not care very much about my request and it was obvious because the room was in the same condition as it was when we left 12 hours earlier. The hairdryer was attracted to the wall at eye level and you could see the dirt and hair accumulated on top and not cleaned. The previous guests left a child's clothing in the bathtub. The wallpaper was dirty and discolored. Wallpaper in the hallways were taped at the seems and painted trying to match the color and done poorly. Only one ice machine working. The good aspects of the room was good cold a/c and hot water. If you believe all hotels are the same when the lights are turned off, this hotel is for you. As I was leaving another guests told me it was the same for his room. We had stayed at this motel a couple of years ago and it wasn't in this terrible condition. We won't be staying in the future.
