"I love the quirkiness of this hotel which is also a bar & a tabac. It’s typically local French establishment with no pretensions. The dinner & breakfast is of a good standard & satisfying. The bedrooms are clean & somewhat eccentric, so it helps if you have a sense of humour. It’s right on the D393 which is a fantastic biking road between Bar sur Aube & Dijon. I use it at least twice a year, so will be back soon. "

Petits produits dans la salle de bain, ça fait plaisir. Décoration jolie, petit déjeuner au coin du feu, buffet varié de qualité. Je reviendrais ! Merci"

"The Gite du Capitaine is in a small village in the countryside. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast and dinner provided was good. The room and facilities were excellent. The house is rustic and full of antique furniture in great condition. "

"It was very quiet when we stayed, but was absolutely lovey. I stayed with my three young children, and the staff that were on were very helpful. After a long drive from Provence, they were very attentive and sourced me a very important wine glass for my bottle I brought with me! :-) "

"When I arrived at this property the owner finally answered the door, she said she had no knowledge of my booking. Finally I had to email her a copy of my confirmation. This wasn't made any easier by her statement that "she spoke no English" - the website clearly states multilingual staff. (In fact it later became clear she did speak English). The 'living-room' is actually set out as a shop and did not feel welcoming - I was not invited to use it anyway. The only restaurant in Salives was unable...

"Petit déjeuner : pas de poubelle à côté du presse agrumes, croissants un peu trop cuits), mais du choix et un excellent rapport qualité prix; Restaurant : en dehors du pain, tout était très fin, excellent dîner (mention spéciale au tataki de boeuf) Chambres : spacieuses, propres, confortables (un petit frigo serait un plus, commande la chasse d'eau mériterait d'être mieux fixée). Globalement, un excellent rapport qualité prix. Et le personnel, d’une gentillesse remarquable."
