"Lovely helpful host. Fantastic location.Although aware that the property was a basement flat, I wasn’t prepared for very little natural light. A small row of kitchen units if possible,with a sink and maybe a single hob would make a big difference. Washing dishes in the bathroom was inconvenient. It worked for our group however may be challenging for a family with young children.Would likely suit guests who prefer to eat all meals out. The ceiling mounted waste pipe through the length of the kitchen with accompanying noise was somewhat unusual. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious."

"We enjoyed our time at Echo Pines and would stay here again. The coffee station was great! Kitchen was well equipped and included a nice array of spices too. The two bedrooms are upstairs. The stairs are pretty steep. So, if you have children or a small dog (like we do) you may want to block the stairs. The beds are very comfortable. Bathrooms were well stocked and very clean.The basket of maps and information about the area was helpful. Ellen even provides binoculars! Be sure to take them along on your morning walks to spot the loons on the lake.We liked the proximity to trails on the quiet side. Hiked Acadia Mountain, St Sauveur, Flying Mountain, Valley Peak, and around Echo Lake. Wonderland and Ship Harbor are more gentle trails with beautiful views. We also had tickets for afternoon and sunrise at Cadillac Mountain. If you can, go in the afternoon BEFORE so you can enjoy the views and scout out the location you are comfortable with for the sunrise. We really enjoyed walking the Bar Island Trail during low tide at sunset. We got some great pictures. Followed by dinner downtown in Bar Harbor. Enjoyed our trip! And loved staying at Echo Pines."

Summer Paradise Cabin in Acadia near Long Pond

"We were 2 adult women who came to the area for the park. The cabin is in the perfect location as Bar Harbor, Bass Harbor, and many points of interest within Acadia National Park are within a 20 minute drive. Aside from the stairs up to the loft, and the dog door, this is a great rental for those with small children and adult groups without mobility issues. We mostly used the cabin for sleeping and ate out most meals, but the pots, bans, dishes, utensils were all good/as expected. The beds and living room furniture were comfortable. I did get in a little time on the screened-in porch with my book, which was my favorite part! The washer & dryer for laundry is an added bonus. Communication with the host was consistent from the morning of arrival through departure (top notch local host!) This is a cabin in the woods the hosts have done a fabulous job making comfortable as a vacation rental. You have to walk down a few stairs from the parking spot and across forest floor and up a few deck steps to get into the cabin (this would be a challenge for my parents). To set expectations, the downstairs floor is painted plywood with area rugs, but the inside was as clean as can be. The heater works great! The bathroom can be chilly for a shower, but that could be my own fault for not pushing the heat up high enough in advance. I'm from New England and like to camp in a tent so this cabin was more than adequate for me. If you prefer resorts/hotels, check out this host's other offerings."

The kitchen was especially great and well-equipped with plenty of pots, pans, and everything we needed to prepare meals.This property was perfect for our family reunion and gave everyone plenty of space to spend quality time together. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily come back again!"
