For our 9 night stay, we tried 4 times to hae maintenance get our TV to work. It never did. Also, the hair dryer worked on low heat, but not high heat. It took only one try to get them to replace the telelphone handset cord for one that let us use the phone to call the front desk.

Washington Mayfair was GREAT!
We chose the Washington Mayfair Hotel because it was only a half block away from a different hotel our son & his wife were staying in, but about a hundred dollars per night less expensive. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was wonderful! The beds were comfortable, the room size was plenty large, the bathroom was excellent with an awesome shower - such great water flow! The concierge was extremely helpful, and the hotel staff found us an electrical adapter we could use since we hadn't brought our own. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The pillows were rather flat and hard, but that was my only small disappointment. I'd highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was clean & tidy, the staff friendly and helpful and the food good. Th two negatives I experienced were: 1. No hot water in my room. In fairness, this was addressed once I reported it, but it wasn't fixed properly, resulting in there being no hot water again for my second night. 2. The receptionist, who was very busy at the time, forgot to order me a taxi, causing me to miss a film I had planned to see. Again, the manager offered me a free breakfast on my second morning in compensation.

Great location as we were visiting winter wonderland in Hyde Park 👍 Rooms could do with a makeover but friendly staff and a great night had, not 4 star judging against other 4 star hotels which we have stayed in.

bad experience in Mayfair
our room was dirty.. white stains on the chair that we dare not sit on it.. poor room service and quality of end and pillows were rubbish. woke up to bites on my lower leg. breakfast was the worst i’ve ever had to experience in all the years of my travels. i would not of fed my dog what they served to the patrons.

Lovely hotel near tube and Piccadilly, hop on hop off. Housekeeping was loud cleaning & vacuuming nearby rooms very early so for Sunday morning wasn’t thrilled to be woken up.

Very expensive Travellodge
This hotel clearly takes advantage of its location, which was excellent, but I have stayed in better Premier Inns or Travel Lodges. Shower was just a head permanently fixed to the wall, the blind over the windows was absolutely filthy and the ‘black out curtains’ had holes in them. Bed was tiny and had a metal base which I stubbed my toes on several times.

We clearly stated in an old room, plug sockets did not work, lots of dents and scrapes on woodwork, and we found a 2008/09 BT phone book and Yellow Pages in the bedside storage. Also, little things count, and not being asked about our stay when checking out is bad form.

I have stayed at this hotel on multiple occasions and unfortunately this last stay was the most disappointing. The condition of the hotel just goes downhill each time i return. The reception was kind enough to allow me an early check albeit I appeared to be the only guest on my floor. The room could have used a lot of care and cleaning, including vacuuming, perhaps a serious steam clean of the carpets and hood wipe down of the walls and furnishings, there were dirt and mold by the bed, and crumbs left from the prior guest under the desk area. Beware of the tea sets provided, they are not washed daily if at all. Outlets are a hit or miss, as not all of them are operable, and lastly the TV would operate from time to time. Hotel is situated in a prime location but in need of some serious TLC.

No double glazing so can hear people talking in street from high floors, no iron or board in room, no alternative milks for a £28 breakfast! A/C didn't go below 19C and very hot with thick duvet.

On vacation in London
The hotel is undergoing some room renovations and general improvements. We stayed in one of the rooms that has had a makeover and it was outstanding. we had a Suite that even had an outdoor balcony. The lobby and dining areas were very comfortable. Best of all, was the staff. They were extremely helpful with every aspect of our stay.

Upon arrival to our room, the carpets had not been vacuumed and items were on the floor. The TV did not work and we called for service and no one ever came. The shower leaked profusely and puddled on the floor. There was water damage and black mold on the side of the tub from prolonged water damage. There was a grape on the floor of the hallway near our room for our entire 2 day stay. Disappointing stay considering the price we paid.
