Whatever history this hotel has, it's not warranted. It has a serviceable kitchen (fancy microwave, stove top, fridge, pots and pans, and all kinds of cutlery) with a store very close by, which is perfect and a lot cheaper than eating out. It comes with a kitchen table and two chairs, and also a very welcome space heater. It's honestly perfect for excursions into the city, and the tube is a 10min walk. It was clean and quiet, and we got good rest for all the 8 nights we stayed there.
The only problem is that the booking on Expedia didn't match the room - booking said pull-out sofa, but it had none, and the 'parking available' needs a giant asterisk... there is expensive paid parking, or street parking.
