Luxurious cottage, accessible & pet friendly, beautiful location, stunning views

"We had such a lovely stay! The lodge has the most stunning views of Loch Leven, and it is only a few minutes walk down to the loch. Shona was very kind to communicate with us in advance of and during the stay— we felt well looked after. The lodge was a short drive to the train into Edinburgh, where we were able to enjoy the Fringe festival and see the Tattoo. It was great to stay in such a beautiful, peaceful place while still having access to Edinburgh. Beds were very comfortable, we were able to dine indoors and outdoors, and we were only a short distance away from Loch Leven’s Larder (definitely stop down there for a coffee and breakfast). Would love to return to Balgedie at some point. "

"Lovely little cottage 40 minutes (by bus) outside of Edinburgh. The property is nicely updated and has everything you’ll need for your stay. The hosts were WONDERFUL! We were met with a lovely gift and they stopped by right when we arrived and gave us travel ideas into Edinburgh. Just a note about the upstairs bedroom - it’s adorable and comfortable- but once upon the landing, there are 3 additional steps up to the bedroom door on the right and the bathroom on the left. For anyone with larger luggage or mobility issues, just take note. The only suggestion I would make, because we returned from Edinburgh on our last day, absolutely soaked, is to have additional towels available."

"A quiet and tastefully furnished house with everything you could need. Its excellent location makes it a perfect base for exploring many nearby attractions. We particularly enjoyed the billiards, tennis, and darts facilities. We highly recommend this property."

"No reception- we were emailed door codes. Room was fine but lacked curtains or good blinds so it was very light. Restaurant was shut on the Monday we were there though there were other options in town. Parking could be a little tricky but we got lucky. Town and local park / lake / peninsula are very walkable."

"A very peaceful, larger than expected space with all the amenities needed for our family of 4 during our week long stay. We could have stayed longer easily!! Country feeling yet the town is only 6 mins away for all your needs. Very friendly and welcoming hosts. Highly recommend"

"The property is a 3 bedroom/ 2 1/2 bath with a garden, very close to a supermarket. It was very easy to communicate with Christine and she was available for any questions. Kinross has a High Street with a number of shops and restaurants. The Loch is an attraction with boat rides out to the island where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned. We enjoyed the trip to the island and exploring the ruins of the castle. The property was very comfortable and provides a base for many day trips: Dunfermine, South Queensferry& St Andrews to name a few. Buses run regularly to Edinburgh and further north. Kinross is an excellent location as a base. Highly recommend this property."

"We stopped here for a night and found the staff very helpful. Room was very quiet. We had a lovely dinner and breakfast was excellent. Very friendly place to stay. Would definitely consider going back. Beautiful part of the country too. Great parking facilities."
