Breakfast food was badly cooked and service was poor.. However lunch was excellent in respect of food and service, There was some noise from the bar and lounge area in the late evening which disturbed some of our sleep and we were astounded to see a bible had been thrown on a roof overlooking reception.łmnh
Stayed one night with the dog , perfect location ,exactly what we needed

The hotel has a great location, however it looks tired, dated and needs a good clean in some areas. We had a family room and it was overlooking the outside drinking area so it was very noisy until very late evening not ideal when you have children. I didn't see many staff but those I did were helpful and polite, breakfast was good. I thought parking was offered by the hotel thats how i read it, but you have to pay £8 per day and its was first come first served as the public can use it. This is an ok hotel but I dont think I would rush back.
Perfect for a night away. Simple but clean room. Great location. Staff were all super helpful. Going back next month for a concert, and looking forward to staying again.
Hotel was in a great location and our room had beautiful views of the river and nearby church. Was happy with the hotel and service for the price, unfortunate that parking isn’t included in the price since you would need a car to get to this hotel.
Quite a change since the takeover; breakfast remains excellent, and the room I stayed in has had a big makeover. Everything was really good, except for the new Car Park payment which is a bit complicated, you really need to download the YourParkingSpace app to help. I had difficulty using the QA code on the reception desk. Seems to be free parking though if you book direct ??
We had an enjoyable stay at the hotel. We found the staff every helpful. The room was clean and quiet. The bar was quiet and not expensive. Breakfast was excellent. Will stay again if in the area. Thank you
We stayed in a comfortable twin room at the Hand Hotel with a view across the river. One of the beds was slightly tilted due to the sloping floor which could have been easily corrected by using feet raisers on two of the bed legs.
Incredible location close to everything, friendly staff, good value. The rooms are basic but comfortable, with nice views, lots of amenities including kettle, full bath.
Llangollen is a beautiful, friendly town with local shops/no franchises. There are wonderful walks along canals to waterfalls, deserted abbeys.

The hotel is ideally located in the village with an outside seating area across the road and overlooking the river. We ordered salads for lunch which were brought to our table in PLASTIC baskets with the salad presented on a serviette! When questioned the waiter explained that they do not allow crockery outside yet drinks were served in glasses!
Given our experience at lunch we chose to eat our evening meal at a Tapas bar and our breakfast at a nearby coffee shop.
The hotel is in need of some TLC but as we only needed a bed for the night it served it's purpose.
There is a large public car park at the rear of the hotel which costs a very reasonable £8 for 24 hours (but free if you book direct with the hotel).
Despite the record temperature we slept extremely well (aided and abetted by alcohol)
