"This cottage was an excellent base for us as we explored the Bruce Pennisula. The host was very responsive to any questions; there were lots of amenities provided including a canoe, kayaks, bikes (if needed), etc. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The sunsets were amazing and with the dark sky, we were lucky enough to be there during the week of the Persied meteor showers. Cell service was poor, but, hey, we were on holiday! "Air conditioning was strong. Room was spacious and clean. Staff was friendly. Bathroom was not dirty but there were spiders and bugs - probably because the bathroom is just inside the front door they could easily fly/crawl in. Otherwise it’s a good place to stay. After 10 pm people in the other rooms quieted down so we were able to sleep."

"As long as you manage your expectations, Wiarton Willie’s is a perfectly fine place to stay for a night or two if you’re travelling through the area. The staff were friendly and our room was clean enough and comfortable for a short stay. It is definitely run down, dated, and the sheets, towels and overall finishes aren’t the highest quality, but for what we needed, it did the job. A big plus for us was that they allow dogs. We had spent the day hiking at Lion’s Head with our dog and just needed an affordable, pet-friendly place to stay for the night before getting back on the road the next day. Overall, it was convenient, reasonably priced and great for accommodating pets. We’d consider staying again for a quick overnight while travelling through the area."
