"At best the photos are misleading. The chairs in the photo were not there. The cooking utensils were one very small saucepan. The cups were dirty. There were no towels, tea towels or toilet rolls or plug for the kitchen sink. Central heating was an infrared heater on the wall. The sink in the bathroom was rusty and discoloured the water. The whole room was grubby. The WiFi and tv did not work. Several people tried and failed to get it working. The outside area was run down with broken equipment...

"On the down side, no hot breakfast.They have a contenental breakfast for an extra £10.50 each. On the upside, the shower was great, & the tayto cheese & onion was a nice touch. The car park was just around the corner & cost an extra £14."

"Recently refurbished and looking great. The reception staff on check were very professional and helpful. The room was in excellent condition and very clean. The bar/restaurant was very busy on Sunday early evening and was a bit confusing as to how to order food. When it came the food was fresh, tasty and well prepared. The breakfast was a bit odd, eaten in the restaurant and had to wait quite a few minutes before a member of staff arrived to book us in. However, the buffet was in an adjoining small room. The selection was fine but the room would be difficult to navigate if there were more than a few customers in at the same time. Receptionist on check out was talking to another member of staff and didn’t bother to ask if everything was okay with our stay. However, it’s a lovely, clean well located hotel and would definitely stay again."

"The Causeway Hotel sits at the entrance to the visitors centre. I had booked entry time with the visitors centre. However as a resident you can access the visitors centre as residents are automatically booked. Parking is right outside the hotel, so is adjacent to the Causeway entrance. The hotel has a good range of souvenirs. The staff were lovely and always willing to help. The bars and lounges are older in style and compliment to the overall feel of the hotel. There are several walks from the hotel along the cliffs; these are fairly flat as well as an accessible route. Whilst you cannot see the Causeway; you do get some spectacular views of the Causeway coast. If anyone is visiting the Antrim coast, I would suggest one or two nights here. You are ideally situated to visit the sights to the east and the west."

"Really good central location and easy to access parking. Staff were friendly and attentive. We made use of the pool which was clean and quiet at the time we used it. We were upgraded to the presidential suite on arrival which was spacious and had a great view of the river. There was some noise throughout the night from the main road which runs alongside the hotel, I would imagine this gets less on the higher up floors and is an unavoidable factor of staying in a central location,"

"Pros: The woman who helped us gather our keys after 6 hours of traveling. Breakfast was pretty good and varied. Lots of protein and carb options plus fresh pancakes. Location is central and Tesco’s is nearby. Daily housekeeping. Hard to find that in most hotels these days. Spacious rooms and excellent blackout curtains. Cons: Asked every time we went to the front desk if we were checking out. That got tiring. We were there for 3 nights but everyone kept thinking we were only staying for one. I don’t expect them to remember the details of all the guests but it got to the point where the key cards stopped working because they assumed we checked out. Staff a bit hit or miss. Some were lovely, some kept us waiting for ages but didn’t apologize or preferred to chat with other staff. I’ve been to hundreds of hotels. Basic hospitality is about the customer in front of you and dealing with the situation then and there. Room could’ve used a safe, mini fridge and/or a microwave for the space. Carpets and curtains in room could use a good cleaning. Lots of mystery stains. No facial tissues or shampoo in the bathroom, which was unusual."
