I normally love the Brughel, the staff and the feel of the hotel are generally excellent. This time I had a noisy room, lots of intrusive water noise from drains from showers and WC's in floors above. Ive stayed before but room 103 was a problem.

The hotel room was comfortable and relaxing. Please note, that this hotel does not have a restaurant or a bar as advertised, infact the receptionist told us, it hasn't had a bar for many years. The hotel is very near to the town, so restaurants can be reached very quickly. This area is busy and can become noisy during the evenings and night times. Lille is a walkable city and because we walked everywhere managed to have good night sleeps.

Overall the hotel is fine. The toilet is located in small closet. Bed was wonderful and is literally a couple minute walk from Flanders station. Lots of dinning options. Can be noisy outside and no air conditioning. It gets warm in hotel even on cool days. If you have the window open there is a lot of noise all hours. Great dinning and location.

Great location for stopover when using Lille Europe or Lille Flanders, very easy walk from both. Welcoming, comfortable and the room we had gave a great view of the St Maurice church tower from the bed and the bathroom!

Characterful and friendly

Lovely little hotel in the historic centre of Lille. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the room itself comfortable and clean (superior double). If like me you don't like the anonymity of the big chains, this characterful three star is a perfect solution.

It’s a very competitively priced boutiques hotel, as they say in politically correct English. The location is good, and the staff is supper friendly, but if you are looking for more convenience and better amenities, I would choose something else.

Close to both railway stations which while it is convenient there are a few beggars to contend with. I am a solo traveller and I did not feel overly concerned as there was a large security or police presence. Room clean bed comfortable.

A pleasant stay with friendly team

We had a nice stay last weekend. The checkin was very efficient, all of the staff were very friendly and the room was very clean. Our only issue is that you can hear other guests very clearly in the hallway at all times of day and night. Otherwise, it is comfy and great location for getting around Lille.

Pleasant, welcoming hotel, centrally located.

Very pleasant place, and centrally located in the town. Quite small, a little quirky - tiny lift for instance. Staff on reception very welcoming. Rooms fine but not exactly huge. We had a "superior" room - our friends standard rooms were quite small. We did find on the last day that ours had a damp patch behind the bed where water was seeping though the outside wall, which was making the pillows damp - we did report this, but it wasn't good. Hopefully it will be sorted out soon. Pleasant breakfast, although the buffet area was crowded and the tables rather squeezed in. One of the staff on breakfast duty could do with a little training on developing a welcoming attitude! But it wasn't a big deal. Overall, it was quite good value. I'd be happy to recommend and to return.

A gem with a few flaws

First, the bad. This hotel is very basic in what a hotel is supposed to offer: a place to store your belongings, to sleep for the night, and to maintain oneself (bathing, toilet, etc.). This hotel provides these things, but only just enough to pass. For example, there's a bed, but no headboard. There's a shower, but barely enough room to turn around. There's a desk, but it's tiny. As I said, the basics are all there, but it's all just barely passing. Another negative are the thin walls. You can hear others in the rooms above and adjacent. For me, it wasn't so bad during the day when everyone is out and about, but you could hear everything. This can be problematic if you're a light sleeper. A final negative is the wifi. I could only connect one device at a time, so I had to choose between my phone and my laptop. But now let's get to the good stuff. The first thing is the location. This hotel is literally in the middle of it all. As soon as you step outside, you could go any direction and you'll be on your way to the sights and sounds of the city. This hotel is one block from where the "main" action is in Lille, and about a 10 minute walk to Vieux Lille. Next is the staff. The people who work at this hotel are absolutely wonderful. They're very welcoming and friendly. With 62 rooms, I was impressed that they remembered who I was and what room I was in. So, in all, if you're just using your room as a place to store your stuff, sleep, and shower, this hotel is a great choice.

Wonderful 4 night stay. Perfect location in old town to explore by foot. Very walkable city. Short walk from EuroLille and Flanders stations. No need for cabs/public transport. Plenty of restaurants and bars in all directions. Right next to beautiful church (so magnificent we thought it was the cathedral) Quaint and quirky hotel. No needs unmet. Staff were lovely and the breakfast was wonderful. Thank you.

Very charming hotel with lovely front desk staff. Room was a twin room for my son and I and it was perfect. Not big (as expected) but it served our needs! Minutes from the train station which was perfect!
