"We enjoyed hot, sunny, cloudless days and made good use of the shady parts of the garden which affords total privacy and looks out over a reservoir. The property is fairly remote, with no shops or restaurants within easy walking distance so a car is essential. Accommodation is not as spacious as it seems on the website but it was fine for two of us and there is obviously work still going on to renovate other parts of the building. Decor is stylish and the kitchen is well-equipped."

"This is a lovely base from which to explore the Pyrenees (around 1/2 hour to 1 hour’s drive). The owners are very friendly and helpful. We had a very mellow time sitting on the patio watching the cows and the stars!"

"This was a great place to see this region, fantastic views, quiet location but still easy access to major roads and the mountanis. The house is immaculate and has everything you need, all finished to a very high standard. Guillaume is a very friendly and helpful host and we absolutely loved staying here."

"Great week at this rustic retreat - the house is ideally situated for exploring the Pyrenees. The host Philippe was very responsive, accomodating and gave us fantastic recommendations. The house and outside areas are very comfortable and the pool was really appreciated when the sun came out! We had a very special evening drinking wine in the garden in a thunderstorm storm and hearing the stags bellowing in the garden when the rain stopped. A great area for walking amd wildlife. Thank you Philippe! xx"

"A very well-appointed property which catered very well for our extended family of 9, ages ranging from 1 to 75. There was ample space for us not to be under each others' feet and enough bathrooms for each family (and a teenage granddaughter!). The outdoor facilities were excellent including the summer kitchen/ barbecue area, the variety of games equipment and (especially) the fabulous swimming pool.There is ample shade around the property for those extremely hot southern French days.Access to the mountains is very easy and they can be seen clearly from the surrounding area.The hosts, Mary-Jo and John are excellent and helpful without being intrusive.As a very rural area car is, of course essential, and shops are a 1- - 15 minute drive away; the baker in St Marcet is, however, worth the morning drive for excellent bread and pastries!.We strongly recommend Chateau Floran"

"We had a great time at the property and was a great bass to explore the area. We drove to Carcassonne which is well worth the drive, we also visited the prehistoric parc which is a lovely drive. Bossot was also worth the drive with stunning views and also visited the zoo. St Girons market on saturdays is again worth a visit, Azir caves and the reptile centre which is probably less than an hour away again is worth the visit. Thank you from all of us "

"The hotel is located on a side road in a modest size village. Very little traffic passes so it's not likely to attract passing trade but does mean it's very quiet with no vehicle noise in the rooms. The staff speak good English so communication isn't a problem. The room has a balcony with views of the mountains in the distance. Breakfast costs extra but is of high quality. The only issue is the soap dispenser in the bathroom was empty but the shower gel provided an alternative."
