The Carriage House at Twin Maple Farm is a lovely second story apartment providing top notch accommodation in the peace and tranquility of Virginia's countryside and just minutes from downtown Lexington. This modern Carriage House, with all new appliances, is architecturally rich, with sky lights, cathedral ceiling and custom cabinetry. Queen size bed, 2 roll away beds/cots with memory foam mattresses, large bath with spacious ceramic tile shower. Fully equipped kitchen, supplied with some staples. Satellite TV, gas grill are also available. Enjoy dining on a balcony that looks over a peaceful countryside adorned with roaming cattle or using our second deck under huge maple tree. The surrounding pastures are framed by the Blue Ridge Mountains, providing a real feast for your eyes. A peaceful and private retreat both couples and families will find refreshing . The Carriage House is located on the owners home property, they can be available to answer questions, provide suggestions for shopping, restaurants, sights to see, etc..

Perfect location to enjoy Lexington, the surrounding county of Rockbridge and the Shenandoah Valley, which is abundant in natural beauty and Civil War history. Washington and Lee University and Virginia Military Institute are less than 10 minutes away, as well numerous shops and restaurants. Lexington is also rich with historic sites including the Stonewall Jackson House and burial site, George C Marshall Museum, Robert E Lee Chapel and burial site. The Lenfest Center and Lime Kiln Outdoor theater, both provide music and theater performances.The Virginia Horse Center is the crowning jewel of Virginia’s 1 billion dollar equine industry, and is just minutes away.

Rockbridge Country is one of the most picturesque in Virginia-an artist and photographers paradise.
There are thousands of acres of National Forest and Protected land that provide outdoor activities from fishing, biking, hiking, canoeing, and of course rafting down the Maury River through Goshen Pass. Wine tasting can be enjoyed at several wineries and within a 60 mile radius of Lexington you can enjoy the towns of Staunton, Charlottesville and Roanoke. Two 5 star resorts, The Greenbrier in White Sulfur Springs, WV and The Homestead, in Hot Springs, VA , are both less than 45 minutes from Lexington.

Thanksgiving Getaway

The stay was just as we imagined. Beautiful views, cozy accommodations and we even got to meet Jasper, the property owner’s horse we read about in a review. Owner was so friendly which really added a welcoming touch. Definitely recommend.

Relaxing place to stay!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Loved being able to watch the sun rise from our bedroom balcony and then watch the sunset from the front porch. Loved seeing the cows walk down to their watering hole and especially enjoyed watching Jasper their horse roam the pasture. We would stay again the next time we are in the area.

Serene stay and location

Janet and Brian have a piece of heaven out there. They were immediately welcoming, kind, and gave us recommendations in the area that were spot on to what we enjoy. The views right from the porch are breathtaking. The house was clean and the location is just so peaceful. Jasper their horse gave the best greetings, and we had so much fun hanging with him. Our family fell in love with Virginia, and that’s a huge thanks to them both. If we make it that way again (we hope to) we’d absolutely be staying with them.

Wonderful Stay

The property is convenient to VMI and downtown Lexington. We really enjoyed our stay. This is a nice, quiet, cozy, very comfortable place with panoramic views of beautiful landscape. The property is well appointed and nicely decorated. It had everything we needed for a nice weekend get away. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

What a beautiful apartment! Everything we needed, lots of space, great views, peaceful pastoral setting. Really nice outdoor seating area with comfortable furniture, but that night was a HUGE thunderstorm, which we got to watch from the Juliette balcony off the bedroom. Would highly recommend!

Perfect!

We had the best stay here in this adorable and cozy carriage house. The hosts are so friendly and the property was perfectly designed! It had everything we needed. We loved seeing the cows in the field while sipping on coffee on the balcony. We also loved meeting the friendly horse who walked over to greet us on our stroll along the fence. We’d recommend this place to anyone and stay here again anytime we’re in the area!

Quiet carriage house out in the country

The property was ideal for a quiet few days on our way to a wedding. The carriage house was spacious especially for just my wife and I and our dog. Everything was nice and modern. There is a beautiful balcony off of the bedroom that looks east. The sunrise over the blue ridge mountains is worth the stay by itself. The friendly horse named jasper came to visit each time we came out to the fence. Lovely setting.

Quaint and Beautiful

We had an overnight stay here. Communication was terrific. The setting is utterly beautiful. The lodging was wonderfully appointed. There was a really nice outdoor sitting area. The pullouts were supremely comfortable and more like sleeping on a standard bed. The hosts couldn't have been more welcoming. We're a bit sorry our stay was only overnight. We will remember this one for a long time.
