"Although the hotel was rather dour from the outside, it was perfectly nice, if a little old-fashioned, inside. Particularly good was the food. The sirloin steak and kippers were the best we have ever eaten in a hotel or restaurant and are locally sourced. Service was very good and the room was very pleasant - the only negative being that the bed wasn't the most comfortable. A view of the Ferry Terminal made for interesting watching and we enjoyed watching the boating activities as the hotel...

"The view of the water was nice. The cleanliness was very good. The mattresses and pillows need to be replaced. That being said, I slept well. The hotel, however, is in need of TLC. The location was excellent. The staff we met was kind. We were grateful for the availability. "

"Nice place with ever-present owners bending over backwards to help in any way possible. The rooms are comfortable with basic amenities and coffee, tea and similar available. I particularly liked the well equipped shared kitchen and the lounge. Above all, the view from the inn is stunning. Note that it is in a peaceful and quiet area with very little in the way of local amenities, although Lerwick is only a short drive away.
