Great place great view’s lots of fun and plenty of room for our family! Would be the best place in the Hills with air conditioning! Would not hesitate to stay again!!!
The cabin is wonderful! It was clean, easy to get to. The beds were comfortable, and it was very peaceful. Great communication with host . We will definitely book this cabin again.
The house was stocked with supplies which was great. Contacting the management company was easy and the location for a week of exploring the area was perfect. There were a couple of issues - washer was quirky and no AC at the cabin but we did learn how to overcome. We had an amazing time at the property.
Cabin itself was immaculate. We had a great stay. Was hoping it would be a little more secluded, as there was a constant flow of traffic all day on the road, including large trucks with loads using their engine brakes at the stop sign right at the driveway. It made using the deck a bit pointless though we did sit out their quite often, especially mornings and evenings. Other than that it was everything we could hope for and it was a great base for exploring the Black Hills!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Colour Cabin. It was a good fit for what we wanted to do. We had 7 adults and 1-2 year old and the cabin suited this group well. The rooms were spacious and super clean. In dealing with the host we had absolutely zero issues. The only small critique would be there is no air conditioning and we could only find 1 fan that said we were ok and dealt with one night that was a little warm. We would highly recommend this cabin!!!!!!
It was everything we expected. I can’t complain about no air conditioning or fans because they were upfront but I will say it was HOT in the home. If you are planning on staying in the summer time, I would suggest bringing fans for each bedroom. It was a well kept, clean, updated home with everything you need to have a great experience. They thought of everything. It is a drive though from most touristy things so keep that in mind. I would definitely stay here again.
Stayed for Kool Deadwood Nites in 2019. Was reasonably priced, about that of a hotel room.
It is a nice set up, if you have 2-3 couples or a 1-2 couple + older kids. Not a lot of 'play' room for younger kids if cooped up in the winter time. They have a neat little loft with two twin beds and a play area and then an actual bedroom in back part of the loft with two double/queen beds. Master bedroom w/ bath and a separate bedroom on the main floor. There is also a second full bath on the main floor.
Kitchen set up is nice with a bar area (4 stools) and a table (it'd seat 6 comfortably).
Lots of condiments left over which was great for cooking (salt, pepper, etc). We used some and left a couple things we purchased. Several pot and pan sizes, as well as lots of 'extras' that we did not use like a waffle maker, fancy glasses, and several options for plates/bowls. Very small dishwasher that worked pretty well, but we washed most dishes by hand as there were so few. Washer and dryer on site that you can use if you want, which would be great in a pinch or if you were staying longer. We spent our days out and about so not a lot of time at the cabin other then to sleep and eat.
I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the cabin when we arrived. It has a nice deck and location is convenient. Easy to find. If you are familiar with the Terry Peak area it's at the intersection of Buffalo and Last Chance. I would stay again or recommend to a friend.
Beautiful cabin style home. Gas fireplace worked well, we even got the wood stove burning to help dry off our clothes (it rained pretty heavy one day we were there) the high end kurieg was a very nice touch. Very comfortable. Will gladly stay there again

We have been renting VRBO'S for 10 years, and have never had an experience like this. The listing said jet bath tub, tv in master bedroom, grill. It should have had decent cookware, gas in the grill. Normmaly we have a few of each size baggies, foil, plastic wrap, etc. We had 1 or 2 of each size, no foil, and I went to cover something, no plastic wrap. This was our 1st day so we didn't shop yet. . The tv in the master bedroom did not work, and the coffee pot shut off every 10 seconds. It took us 45 minutes to brew a pot of coffee. This was the 1st day and a half. I called the manager, and reported both items. We did have a new coffee pot on the porch when we got home that night. Nothing ever happened with the tv. That might went to take a bath, and the jets don't work. We read the book that is left to sign, and, and saw it had been broke since at least 8/20. We were cooking nice steaks that night on the grill, ran out of gas. Steaks ruined, also our chicken. Our thought, we are not paying for the next few renters to be able to use the BBQ. Every other VRBO we stayed in had a spare tank, and asked us to let them know if it runs out. Also they say no internet, however they do, and don't want renters to have it. No one does that anywhere anymore. . They had the ring doorbell, and I believe you must have internet for that. . We went way over our data, and our phone bill is going to be much higher than normal. Also there is no broiler pan. Sone of the cookware was disgusting, and should be thrown out. The house cost alot if money, it was much more than we needed, but it had amenities that we wanted, but all were broke. I could go on, but you get the just of it. I emailed the property manager and received no response. We will be MUCH more careful next time we rent.
Perfect cabin for a getaway in the northern Hills. Enjoyed our time there and will definitely book again!

Cabin is good, but Deadwood Connections leaves a lot to be desired.
This is a nice cabin that was clean inside and looked just like it does in the pictures. It is managed by Deadwood Connections, and I got an email proclaiming in capital letters that I still owed them over $900 when VRBO showed that everything was paid in full. When that was cleared up, we got emails that stated the rules and fines that we would face during our stay: Even though we paid a large cleaning fee, we were warned that we must empty all the trash cans, wash all of the dishes, strip all of the beds, put all of the towels in the laundry, clean the barbecue grill, etc. If we were to put trash in the outdoor trash can (which was totally full of garbage when we arrived) without it being bagged, there would be a $50 fine. If we didn't clean the grill after using it, there would be a $50 fine, and so on. I spent much of the weekend warning people in our group about what they could and could not do. It really put a damper on our family get-together. The cabin is cute and charming, but there is no air conditioning. That is not usually a big problem, but the cabin has several skylights that bring in a lot of heat when the sun beats down, so it was over 80 degrees inside when we arrived.
I would be happy to rent this cabin again in the fall, winter, or spring, but not if I must book through Deadwood Connections.
We have stayed at a couple other properties around this area (within the block) and this was the most clean and quiet pick of the bunch. Very happy with the facility, cleanliness, and amenities!
We so enjoyed our stay here in this beautiful cabin! It was the perfect place to relax and spend time with our friends and family. The cabin was so well equipped with things I didn’t expect! We loved the area, and will definitely be back!
