"Comme nous l’espérions , cadre idyllique au milieu des étangs, la maison est grande avec 1 très spacieuse pièce de vie . Le gérant est très arrangeant au niveau des horaires d’arrivée et de départ MAIS…… la maison est vétuste, tout ou presque est à refaire , le ménage est plus que moyen. Les extérieurs qui devraient être agréables ne sont pas entretenus, les salons de jardin en plastique blanc à l’origine, sont empilés les uns sur les autres, totalement sales, les terrasses en bord d’étang sont...

"Nous avons apprécié le calme de l'endroit, la tranquillité des petites routes environnantes (à pied et en vélo) Séjour ressourçant au plus près de la nature. Les petits villages sont très fleuris, les gens accueillants. Idéal pour des personnes aimant la randonnée, et les vieux châteaux et il y a même un petit coin plage pour se rafraîchir."

"We enjoyed our short stay at Fougeres. Roselyn and Jean Louis were very helpful with directions of how to find the gite. They organised Jocelyn to meet us on our arrival and show us how everything worked. The gite was warm and cosy with all the mod cons to make us comfortable. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant."

"Very good place to stay in Eguzon. Check in period is longer than what is advertised 6 to 8pm. We arrived earlier and could have checked in until 11pm. It needs to be updated. Excellent coffee and service. "

"This was a great experience, the Chateau is huge and the walls are covered with artifacts from several eras gone by. Breakfast was served in a beautiful dinning room with history in every nook and cranny. Breakfast was delicious, with numerous pastries made in house, along with artisan jam and toast, yogurt, hot coffee and orange juice, and fruit salad. Our room was accessible through a hidden door behind a book case and was equally full of history. It had two comfortable arm chairs for reading, wooden window coverings to block out the light and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom had both a stand alone soaker tub and a shower, with plenty of hot water and good pressure. Our host Ivo is also the owner and an author and gave excellent recommendations for local dining. We really enjoyed chatting with him and hearing the history of the Chateau. Saint-Chartier is definitely off the beaten path, but if you are looking for history and really unique experience, I'd highly recommend it. "
