Hotel Sirmione Terme

10/10 Excellent

"Loved the thermal pool that was included! Breakfast was amazing. It was so easy to catch a ferry right by the hotel."

"Check in was OK but the guy showing us the apartment was not well and was not very informative about the place. He didn't tell us that the main door in to the building was electronically controlled for exit. There was a place to insert the key but it didn't open the door. By chance I pushed what I thought was a light switch and the door unlocked. Also there are no printed instructions for any of the appliances. The bathroom was modern and clean with a good sized walk in shower. The bedroom had a comfortable king sized bed and ample wardrobe space. The TV showed Netflix, Prime etc and was easy to operate. It was quiet at night."

Residence Ca' del Lago

10/10 Excellent

"We had the most wonderful stay at this hotel in Lake Garda and it was everything we hoped for and more! From the communication before our stay to the cleanliness, facilities and overall experience, everything was fantastic. The hotel has a beautiful boutique feel, making it feel like a real treat, with stunning views that made our stay even more special. The location was perfect for us, around an 8 minute walk into the centre, where you’ll find plenty of lovely shops, cafés, bars and restaurants. One thing worth being aware of before booking is that there is a fairly steep incline and a number of steps to reach the main areas of the hotel, including the entrance, restaurant and bar, pool, hot tub and seating areas. There is a lift available, which is helpful, and it was absolutely fine for us, but it’s something to consider for older guests or anyone with mobility difficulties. The food and drinks were lovely, with generous portions, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming throughout. A lovely touch was the wide selection of complimentary snacks served with every drink, which made us feel really spoilt! Our room was cleaned daily, and the whole hotel was kept beautifully clean. Overall, this was a gorgeous hotel for a special getaway. Beautiful views, a lovely and romantic atmosphere, fantastic food and drink, and wonderful staff. We couldn’t have asked for more."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Lazise Old Town?

The best area to stay in Lazise Old Town is within the historic walls themselves, offering unparalleled access to the lake and local life.

This compact area is characterised by its medieval walls, narrow cobbled streets, and the picturesque harbour. You'll find a delightful array of trattorias, gelato shops, and independent boutiques, all centred around the main piazza, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, and stretching down to the Lungolago Marconi promenade. It's wonderfully walkable, meaning everything is just a short stroll away.

For couples seeking a romantic getaway, staying directly in Lazise Old Town is perfect. The evenings here are particularly pleasant, with opportunities for lakeside dinners, leisurely strolls hand-in-hand along the promenade, and enjoying a glass of local wine while watching the sunset over Lake Garda. The convenience of having everything on your doorstep allows for a truly relaxing and intimate experience.

Families will also find Lazise Old Town an excellent base. The pedestrianised streets make it easy and pleasant to walk with children, and there are plenty of gelato shops and casual eateries to keep everyone happy.

When is the best time to go to Lazise Old Town?

The best time to visit Lazise Old Town is during the shoulder seasons of spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October).

During these months, the weather is pleasantly mild, making it ideal for exploring the town's cobbled streets, the Scaliger Castle, and the lakeside promenade without the intense heat of summer. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience when visiting local shops and trattorias. The ferry services across Lake Garda are also fully operational during these times, offering convenient day trips to other lakeside towns.

Couples looking for a romantic getaway will particularly appreciate the quieter atmosphere and comfortable temperatures of the shoulder seasons. It's great for leisurely strolls along the waterfront, enjoying al fresco dining, and wine tasting at nearby vineyards without feeling rushed.

Families travelling with younger children might also find these times more agreeable. The milder weather makes outdoor activities more comfortable, and the reduced number of visitors means less queuing for attractions like the lakeside park.
