The best area to stay in Lazaráta is within the village centre itself, particularly around the main square and the roads leading off it.

Lazaráta is a small, traditional village located in the hills of Lefkada, offering a genuinely relaxed Greek experience. The village centre is characterised by its traditional stone houses, narrow streets, and a central square where locals gather. It's a quiet area, great for those looking to unwind.

Couples looking for a tranquil escape will find Lazaráta ideal. The village offers a peaceful setting away from the busier coastal resorts, allowing for quiet evenings and leisurely mornings. There are a few local tavernas offering authentic Greek cuisine within easy walking distance.

For travellers who appreciate local culture and a slower pace, staying in Lazaráta provides an excellent base.

The best times to visit Lazaráta are typically during the shoulder seasons of May, early June, September, and early October.

These months offer pleasant weather, with warm temperatures superb for exploring the Ionian Islands, but without the intense heat and larger crowds of the peak summer months. You'll find the sea warm enough for swimming and water activities, and the island's natural beauty is at its prime with lush greenery.

For travellers who prefer a more relaxed holiday, these periods provide an ideal balance. You can enjoy popular attractions and beaches with fewer people, allowing for a more serene experience. It's also a great time for outdoor activities like hiking and cycling, as the temperatures are more comfortable.

While July and August are popular for those who love very hot weather and a bustling atmosphere, the shoulder seasons offer a more refined and comfortable experience for those seeking quality and convenience.
