About this property
LUXURY 13th CENTURY, MEDIEVAL VILLAGE BARN CONVERSION (Sleeps up to 4 people)
Located in the heart of the medieval hilltop village of Lavardens, this tastefully converted barn dates back to the 13th century and enjoys wonderful views across the rooftops to the countryside beyond. Lavardens is a small listed village of c114 inhabitants with a general store, a restaurant, a bar/brasserie and a military-style château which features exhibitions most of the year - ALL WITHIN 50 METRES OF THE PROPERTY! At Castera Verduzan (9km) there are tennis courts, bike hire, horse riding, a leisure lake with a beach where one can, swim, fish and wind-surf. A thermal spa and casino can also be found here. The area enjoys many music festivals : a Country & Western Festival in Mirande (40 km), Tempo Latino in Vic-Fezensac ( 18km) and Jazz in Marciac (50 km), it also enjoys many village fêtes and night markets in the summer (5 in Lavardens), with day markets in most of the villages and towns nearby. The beautiful town of Auch with its impressive Cathedral and very good restaurants is just 15km away. There are several good 18 hole golf courses in Auch (15km), Eauze (41km) and Fleurance (15km). House Interior Entry to the property is via a pretty lane tucked away in the centre of the village. Off the ground floor hallway are two beautifully decorated bedrooms, a bathroom featuring a large, walk-in shower and a separate WC.
A circular staircase leads up to an open plan first floor which contains spacious living and dining areas ‘AND’ the most wonderful views over the village rooftops of the rolling Gers countryside. Adjacent is a fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar and yet more views. House Exterior From the entrance hall, an exterior stone staircase leads down to a most spectacular, yet very private, courtyard. This area, enclosed by stone walls of the 13th century is ideal to capture the sunlight of the day and the atmosphere created by the setting and the bedecked up-lighting of the evening.

We really enjoyed our stay at Laure and Didier's property. The local restaurant was also very good and it was a good base from which to explore Les Gers.
The property is spacious and airy. The decor is beautiful. It had everything we needed for it to be a home from home. The sundeck was great for breakfast and relaxing. We had a wonderful stay. It was perfect.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful town
The new renovation of Didier’s and Laure’s historic town home is done tastefully and authentic to the village. Amenities were excellent and our stay was very comfortable. A cozy courtyard with fish pond. Beautiful countryside with small towns to explore. Day hikes are everywhere.
Everything we needed to be comfortable was included for our 7 day stay. We were able to cook meals in the fully equipped kitchen, do laundry, and sit inside or outdoor to eat meals. The Gite has been furnished tastefully and has two levels plus the lower terrace. Feeding the fish in the fountain pond on the terrace was our favorite thing to do besides touring the countryside villages. Our hosts were helpful and informed us of nearby supermarket/grocery locations. We hope to stay here again!
