Chalet Sterndolde Penthouse

Chalet Sterndolde Penthouse is a modern 2-bedroom holiday apartment centrally located in the family-friendly "car-free" mountain village and ski resort of Wengen. This wonderful top-floor apartment has views of the stunning Lauterbrunnen Valley from its west-facing balcony.

Chalet Sterndolde is located 140 metres (2 minutes walk) from central Wengen, the train station, supermarkets, shops and restaurants. Taxis are available for hire at Wengen station upon arrival if required.

The stylish open-plan living and dining space, with a natural wood ceiling and Scandinavian log burner, gives this a classic modern Alpine chalet-style feel. The panoramic glazed doors to the balcony offer superb views of the mountains and open out onto the west-facing balcony space, perfect for outside dining.

The kitchen is well-equipped for “home” cooking and entertaining. It includes an electric ceramic hob, fan-assisted oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher.

The apartment has two bedrooms and one bathroom. Bedroom 1 is the spacious master bedroom with a king-size double bed (160 x 200 cm). Bedroom 2 has two single beds (90 x 200 cm). The bathroom has a walk-in shower and WC.

There is a washing machine in the apartment and a drying rack.

What you should know...

Although Wengen is a "car-free" mountain village, arriving by car is no problem. There is a large multi-storey car park (paid) next to Lauterbrunnen train station, with trolleys for your luggage and lifts to the station platforms. It is just an 11-minute scenic mountain train ride up to Wengen. The trains depart every 30 minutes during the day and every 60 minutes from 21:30 until 02:40 AM. Taxis are available for hire at Wengen train station if required.

Wonderful Views and Location

The place had a combination of amazing views and a great location in Wengen. It is close to town, yet our balcony had great views of the waterfalls. The rooms were very nice with an open floor plan. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful stay! We loved our 3 nights here! Great communication as well. Only suggestion is to provide some fans for summer months but luckily we carried our own so it wasn't a problem.

Wonderful location

This was so conveniently located to enjoy the village of Wengen as well as many other outdoor highlights of the Berner Oberland and the Lauterbrunnental. The place was spotless, comfortable, amazing view, with a great layout for my friend and I to relax, cook dinner, and just enjoy the mountains.

Superb!

The property was lovely and the balcony view from the top floor was superb! Check in process was super easy and I appreciated the email follow up throughout our stay. All amenities were clean & modern. Very easy to recommend and I would certainly come back.

Best stay for views and proximity to everything

We absolutely loved this location and the accomodation was amazing. We travel a lot and this is the best place we have ever stayed! The place is spacious, close to the co-op, quiet, well provisioned, super clean, and the beds and shower were divine. We hope to come back some day. This place is fantastic. Amazing property and location

This chalet was an incredible place to stay during our week in Switzerland. It was close to the tram that takes you in/out of Wengen, making it a great home base to explore other towns. The view from the balcony and even the bedroom windows was incredible - we never wanted to leave. The kitchen was well stocked to cook a few meals at home, and the house was otherwise furnished to high standards and as advertised. I would recommend this Vrbo to anyone traveling to Wengen.

Lovely

Excellent apartment located centrally in Wengen. The views are phenomenal up the Lauterbrunnen Valley. Proximity to the trains and Wengen is great. Even thought close to the train station, you don’t really notice it. Apartment was super clean, and sized perfectly for our family of three. It would suit a family of five easily. We really appreciated the washing machine and dishwasher. We would definitely stay again.

Gorgeous updated chalet near train station with view

This beautifully appointed, updated chalet is conveniently located minutes-walk from the train station. The cog train running nearby is quiet enough that you don’t hear it inside the rental. Large and spacious with all new interior, amazing kitchen and bath, comfy beds, and new furniture. The outdoor balcony has views of Lauterbrunnen Valley and the master bedroom has direct views of Jungfrau. We were so comfortable we plan to stay again next year.
