"No hot water for showers. Pots and pans were older than me. No extra trash bags. Nothing to use to bake with in oven. Ac was on a 1 hour timer I had to get up all the time in middle of night so my sleep was horrible. No barbecue when it was advertised. Towels were very stained. Bed sheets were old and ripped. Ended up leaving 4 days earlier due to these annoyances. Fridge was nice. Guitar was cool. "

"The property was beautiful with landscaping, the pool was really nice and the restaurant was fantastic. The rooms are a bit small and for some reason I had a room with 3 twin beds in it and I was solo. All in all I give the room 2 stars and the rest of the property 4. "This was a terrific property. Luxury surf resort. Friendly helpful staff. Beautiful rooms. A very short walk across the street to the beach. Fully equipped room with Wi-Fi, kitchen, tvs, laundry room, etc. Great outdoor terrace with chairs and large dining table to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Our host Veronica helped us coordinate a very special clay/pottery making experience for our family. She also recommended a couple great local restaurants and markets. We would definitely book again if back in Pavones!"

"If you want to be right in the middle of nature and wildlife this is the place to go. Most of the resort is raised up into the treetops so you can be eye level with creatures you'd usually only see way above you from the ground. The included hikes and birdwatching were wonderful with very knowledgeable and passionate guides. We also arranged a day trip to Corcovado by boat through the lodge in advance, seems pricey at first but was well worth it. Over the course of a week we saw sloths (lodge & Corcovado), monkeys (everywhere), tapirs (Corcovado), ant eaters (lodge and Corcovado), coatis (lodge), frogs and lizards (lodge) and so many different birds (everywhere). We chose a forest bungalow room which is just screened in from the outside. I was a bit worried the lack of AC might make it too hot to sleep, but at the end of April the fans in the room were enough to keep us comfortable over night. No need for alarm clocks, the howler monkeys will get you up every day. Overall a fantastic nature focused lodge that combines the ability to relax with adventure."

"We spent 3 nights at Playa Nicuesa, and were totally bowled over. This place really is a hidden gem, and all the staff work hard to make it that way. Everything about our stay ran so smoothly, from our pickup and boat transfer on arrival, to our departure. Beautiful location, so calm and peaceful. Wonderful staff, all very friendly, polite and knowledgeable, and great that they always remembered our names! Olman's welcome on the pier and his easygoing manner made us feel at home straight away. We loved our room (which was spotlessly clean) - the furnishings and the wrap-around balcony with its jungle view and sounds. So much wildlife to watch and listen to! We particularly enjoyed our trail walks with the guides Oscar and Jean-Carlos, and I felt totally chilled after my massage with Isabella. The food was always freshly prepared and delicious. We're so glad we stayed here, and hope to return one day."
