Building is reflection of upper class 1890s and provides an authentic combination of modern and early 20th century style with original timbers, large european style bedrooms with very comfortable modern bedding provided. Breakfast was fresh, healthy and the host for the day, Jason, was a friendly and hospitable person. excellent experience overall.

Beautiful place to stay in Launceston. Room was clean and very well maintained. Morning breakfast was excellent. Launceston is quite hilly and this is right at the top as the name suggests, but very convenient to the city. 5 star

Most comfortable stay

Beautiful stately home and a lovely front room to stay in. Recently refurbished so there are no ‘frills’ in the room as yet, just the basics. Ample continental breakfast in attractive dining room. Very friendly owners.

It is a beautiful old house in the lovely area that has a lot of history. My room was very large and comfortable with beautiful views over the town. He also had a lihht breakfast in the morning to get you on your way. The owners are very responsive and made it easy to get checked in. I had a wonderful wonderful day and would highly recommend it!

There was no AC and we boiled even with the window partly opened. It was a terrible nights sleep. There also seemed to be quite a delay in communications via Expedia & we were on a tight time line/needed to sort luggage weight prior to an early morning flight.

For a top end property, it was disappointing. Tiny bathroom, bed head and blinds not cleaned & full of fluff. Hard to sleep due to too much light from neon sign out front and in hallways. Good breakfast though, that's about it.

the room it self was lovely and the building.Just 2 things we found annoying. The bathroom was very very small when seated on the toilet and when in the shower box.It was ok but thought it could have been a bit bigger. The only thing we were really upset about was the dog over the back barked and barked for hours when the owner must have been out.It was continual.everything else was excellent. we would stay again as it was so clean and roomy the actual room itself all but the bathroom.

Beautiful old building, but room was a disappointment for the price. Bathroom was clean but very dated probably 1980's. Did not receive text about access or breakfast times but i had trouble with i messages at the time. Breakfast was good and breakfast server was very accommodating when I wanted breakfast early. Bed was very comfortable but light coming through the blind helped me get a bad nights sleep. Being Launceston one would expect a heater in the bathroom but there wasn't one. No information in the room on how to operate the heater or breakfast times etc. Overheard a guest saying heater didn't work until I told them about the switches inside. Overall a bit disappointed at this premium price point.
