While the hotel room itself was spacious and impeccably clean, our experience was marred by an unexpected issue with the so-called mini bar, which was essentially a small plate tucked beneath the TV. Initially, we assumed the snacks and water bottles placed there were complimentary, akin to the toiletries in the bathroom. However, we soon discovered tiny trackers discreetly attached to the mini bar items. These trackers triggered charges on my card if the snacks were lifted for more than 60 seconds—a detail buried in fine print on a small label.
Discovering these unexpected charges on my MGM app left me feeling unsettled. While I understand the hotel's desire to recoup costs, the lack of transparency in disclosing this tracking system felt somewhat unethical. A more upfront approach, such as explicitly informing guests through the app and seeking their consent before charging for snacks, would have been far more considerate.
Regrettably, my attempt to taste few snacks charged me dollars. Needless to mention that those snacks where priced 4 times the normal market price
