This place is a gem. If you're coming to Vegas for reasons other than mindlessly walking the strip, or you don't like the hassle and noise of the giant hotels, Desert Rose is for you. I stayed here to access a conference at the Mandalay Bay conference center and it was the greatest. Nice cosy pool that isn't crowded, and the staff were all great, especially Michaela at the bar. Rooms are spacious and kitchenettes have everything you need. 15 minute walk to Mandalay or Luxor/Excaliber. Other reviews complained about noise but I did not experience it at all. I was in the center in Building 1 and was not disturbed by any noises. The only odd thing is the "welcome desk" that they send you to after check-in. For sure this is some kind of experience/timeshare kind of thing, but as a single business traveller they only asked me a couple questions and then handed me an entertainment guidebook and didn't try to sell me anything. Will definitely be staying here again in the future.

We travel to Las Vegas often and typically stay on the strip. This time we opted for being just off the strip to get a better rate. We were welcomed with complimentary cocktails. The first room we went in smelled like cigarettes so I called the front desk and without hesitation they moved us to a new room. The property was clean, there is lots of parking, it’s very secure. Easy to walk to the strip when necessary. Convenient and close to the airport as well. We also appreciated the full kitchen so we could get a few groceries and make our breakfasts.

This was our 4th stay at the Desert Rose. This time we were given room 1111 which was on the ground floor with a view of an outside wall and a super small patio. The room seemed dingy and dark which, I'm sure, was because of the location. I will be sure to request a different roon next time.

Our suite was not very clean, as there were visible stains on the kitchen and bathroom floor; the bathrooms were outdated, some of the towels had stains on them, and the body wash bottles were empty. The service (when asked to bring in a couple of extra blankets and to refill the body wash) took a pretty long time. The receptionists showed no interest in greeting us while waiting in the line to check in, which took longer than needed. The only thing I liked is that the suite was spacious and the bedding was clean.

The Desert Rose is such a great place to stay. Close enough to the strip to enjoy Vegas, but also away from the hustle and bustle to relax and enjoy. The staff is so great and friendly. Rooms and property are so clean. Barbara from Maine at the front desk is top notch friendly and helpful. Mini apartment like rooms allow for full fridge/freezer. Showers nice, bed is comfy. 2 televisions. Pool is nice. Lobby and front of house amenities are great. Fitness center is fully outfitted. Just a great place. ps- no resort fees!!!!

Prior to our visit I requested a quiet room on the top floor. They gave us a room on the 2nd floor. We were there mid-week and the property did not appear full. After you check in, they send you to another desk to get a free gift. This was actually a sales person trying to get you to attend a time share presentation. After a long day of travel, this is the last thing we wanted to encounter. We just wanted to go to our room and relax. The suite was comfortable and had plenty of space to move around. It had abundant storage and closets and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pans, etc. The shower had no water pressure and the shower bottom was very slippery. There was plenty of soap, lotion, shampoo, and conditioner. There is no daily maid service. There was no welcome book in the room and no instructions on what to do at check out. We went ahead and loaded the dishwasher and ran it right before we left. I never got a good night's sleep. The rooms were very bright at night due to security lights outside. You can hear footsteps and people upstairs moving stuff around during the night. We were awoken two mornings at 7 am by trash trucks at the dumpsters. They were making loud banging and beeping noises. Why did they give us this room knowing this? There was construction at the front of the building, so those rooms probably would have been noisy as well. I would not stay here if you are a light sleeper.

Stayed in Building 2. Liked that it was quiet and clean overall. Also liked that it only took about 15 minutes to walk to the MGM Grand Lobby/Casino. It seemed like a safe area but thought there was Inadequate street lighting on S Duke Ellington Way for walking at night.

I loved having full apartments. Kitchen’s were very well equipped. Easy walk to the strip. So much better than staying in a big hotel. No resort fees but a great pool and spa. Staff very friendly and helpful.

We really chose this property first of all because it had no casino and there was a toddler in our group. We were concerned about casino cigarette smoke. The amenities were excellent and we especially appreciated the full sized refrigerator. We plan to stay there on our next trip to Las Vegas. Mahalo nui loa!!

They had some of the friendliest staff members I have ever met. Franky, our bartender was super awesome and friendly. He was great at recommending different sites and restaurants that you may not normally visit on a trip to Las Vegas. The only minor issue we had was how much outside noise could be heard from the room.

Hidden behind the Tropicana is this spectacular gem of a hotel. Despite being just two blocks off the strip, the Desert Rose is remarkably quiet. All of the guest quarters include a full kitchen, living room, and walk out deck. Walk to the big casinos or take a quick ride to attractions a bit further up the strip. We will absolutely stay here again!

My stay was a sum of all the bad reviews. Pushy sales from the concierge, the room was not ready when we got to it, a maid came in our room before check out time, the room had an odor and was outdated, etc.

Excellent service from staff and strategic location to visit the strip. Great for the kids and the heated pool and Hot tub was perfect with the cold weather in January. Definitely recommended.
