"This was a wonderful stay, we want to return just to stay here again! Most places look better in photos than in person, I’m happy to report this BB is super clean, so pretty, organized and the service was personal and superior to any service you will encounter at any chain hotel. Juan was wonderful and made himself available to our family. The breakfast was delicious and service was great!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Las Capucas?
The best area to stay in Las Capucas is directly within the village centre, particularly near the main square and the local coffee cooperative.

This area is the heart of Las Capucas and offers the most authentic local experience. You'll find guesthouses and small hotels conveniently located within walking distance of the main square, where local life unfolds, and the renowned coffee cooperative, which is a major draw for visitors. The village is small and easily navigable on foot.

For travellers interested in the coffee culture and agricultural tourism, staying near the cooperative is ideal. You'll be right at the source for tours, tastings, and learning about the coffee-making process from bean to cup. This is superb for those who want to fully engage with the local industry and community.

Couples looking for a peaceful retreat will appreciate the village centre's relaxed pace.
When is the best time to go to Las Capucas?
The best time to visit Las Capucas is during the dry season, which runs from November to April.

During these months, you'll experience pleasant, sunny weather with minimal rainfall, making it ideal for exploring the coffee farms and enjoying outdoor activities. The temperatures are generally warm but comfortable, great for walking tours and learning about the coffee production process. This period also coincides with the coffee harvest season, offering the chance to see the plants laden with cherries and observe the picking process firsthand.

For those interested in a quieter experience, visiting in late November or early December, just as the dry season begins, can be particularly rewarding. The fields are lush from the recent rains, and the harvest is in full swing, providing a great opportunity to see the region at its most productive without the larger crowds that might appear closer to Christmas or Easter.

If you're planning to combine your trip with other regional attractions, like the Mayan ruins of CopƔn Ruinas, the dry season offers the most convenient travel conditions between locations.
