"I reserved and paid back in October. When we arrived on Jan 11 -- we were told that our reservation was cancelled. In fact they were hosting a wedding - and cancelled our reservation without any warning. They proposed a disgusting replacement hotel (one-star backpacker hotel) which was 30€ per night rather than the 90€ per night we paid. We wasted 2 hours of limited time in beautiful Lamu. They refused to reimburse us and refused to send an email confirming that they cancelled a paid reservation...

"This resort is a dream! The property is gorgeous, the staff were exceptional, and the food was amazing. We loved every single minute of our stay. From our greeting by Charro with a perfect G&T to the 3rd generation owner Kaila’s caring assistance our 5 day visit was truly special. The entire staff was just superb. My only note is to provide more towels as the extreme heat made for many showers. If you have an issue with heat like we do, I suggest booking far in advance for one of the few aircon rooms. I highly recommend the Peponi Resort for all travelers to Kenya! You will want to return again! ❤️"
