unique style accommodation in very quiet location about 15 to 20 mins from Lamego so transport is needed as no public services. The roads and bridges leading to the accommodation provide some extremely scenic views looking down into the valleys. Henrique and his wife were very helpful throughout the stay (5*) and we took opportunity not once but twice to have home cooked meal for us. traditional Portuguese style and the beef and chicken options went down a treat. one evening we even had apple crumble for dessert offered (5 *).
Unfortunately the quiet location and the style of leisure furniture in the house were reasons for the 4* which was a majority decision of our group as others said 5 overall. As the weather was in the 30's every day we made use of the swimming pool every day.
1st week september was festival week in Lamego so very busy in town but worth the visit, including the long walk up the steps to the church and the castle. Anybody wanting a waterpark would be happy too.
Our mistake was to misunderstand the location from Lamego based on the Expedia description details in the holiday advert.
