Handcrafted Riverfront Cabin on 10 acres

10/10 Excellent

"An Absolute Paradise with an Amazing Community!This isolated cabin was the perfect peaceful getaway. The location is incredibly calm, and you can hear the stream running just a few yards away. At night, thousands of fireflies lit up the woods like Christmas lights! It was also the first time we let our dog, Jasper, explore off-leash. He was so happy running around the massive 10-acre property. The cabin itself was spotless and fully equipped with plenty of utensils for a comfortable stay.Beyond the property, the nearby town is charming and very small. The local people are incredibly welcoming, kind, and always greet you with a warm smile. We felt right at home and cannot recommend this slice of paradise enough!"

"Very calm, nicely priced place. Very rural, so in my big city opinion it’s more like a place to stay the night and relax indoors or on the little porch/balcony area. Staff is prompt and communicative. Right by the highway. Nearest bigger town (Binghamton) and nearest activities (parks and rivers) are all about a 20min drive away. The place has a TV, mini fridge, stuff like that."

"This is a family owned and staffed property. Beautifully decorated and clean. Appreciated the small atmosphere - 15 rooms. Might be challenging for people who cannot climb stairs if they do not get a first-floor accommodation. As it is an older house, water pressure in shower not real strong., but the friendliness of staff and the beauty of the property make up for that. Very convenient if attending events at Bethal Woods arts center. Surrounding area also beautiful and has restaurants."

"This was our fifth stay at Hotel Anthracite, and we continue to be very pleased with the accommodations. The rooms are comfortable, and the staff is always friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Our only disappointment was the breakfast buffet. Although there was a nice selection of hot items, including French toast, eggs, sausage, and potatoes, they were all served cold. We hope this was just an isolated issue, as it was the only negative aspect of an otherwise enjoyable stay."
