"What a wonderful step back in time. David has poured his heart into this cabin. It was the perfect stay for my son and I for a few days to relax and spend time together. This isn’t a polished hotel. It is exactly what it is listed as. Historical cabin. Originally built around the 1790s and relocated in the 1980s to its current location. Definitely a memorable stay for families. "

"It was good overall! Property was clean and had a wonderful location close to SML boat ramp. Had a minor hiccup with checkin but host was responsive to messaging. Went to Tift’s for dinner and the bartender Nick was top shelf!! If you stay here go to Tifts and ask Nick for a Duck Duck Goose!"

"This place is a slice of heaven! Perfect deck for a beautiful lake view. The house was clean and adorably decorated. The owner was great to work with. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return. "

"HOuse was well equipped for family group of 8 for dinners.the teens really enjoyed the hot tub and lake. the entire family enjoyed evening games together. A great family time for all."

"Very welcoming host, clean house, easy access, lots of fun amenities for everyone, even in the off-season. Loved the calm of the lake in December. The lovely, sandy beach was filled with shells, and the water was clear (although about 4 feet down from normal). The pool table and several of the arcade games (There are over 4,000!) were our favorites. There is no trash pickup in the off-season, which was an interesting experience hauling out the trash in our cars to the local trash site (10 mins away). The grounds could use some landscaping, there was a lot of black plastic exposed.Overall great stay through the holidays, thanks to the Hawthorns for sharing such a wonderful home with us."

"Beautiful views to wake up to!! Plenty of space for a family to stretch out, and the inside of the home was very clean with plenty of pillows and extra blankets. Be aware - the bunkbed is now Queen size on both top and bottom. We were unprepared for that; the listing said Queen and Twin when we booked. There were 6-8 remotes in front of the TV downstairs and we didn't have the energy to try to figure out what goes to what. We were unclear where the kayaks that belong to the property are...there are 2 that are on the very edge of the property, on the other side of a tree, facing the neighbors backyard. We weren't comfortable enough with the assumption to do anything with them. I was surprised the lawn and decks weren't more cleaned up; all the neighbor's lawns were. "
