Upon arrival, we were greeted by a clean, beautiful, warm, inviting house. Making you feel right at home. The owners were great to deal with. They provided plenty of suggestions for places of interest and fun, as well as many local restaurants for us to try.
We are a family of 7 and this house provided plenty of space for us. There were many beds and pillows galore. We were told we would need to provide our own linens. I thought that just meant the sheets. There were no towels provided like the description said above, so just make sure you bring your own. Also there is no hairdryer. I forgot mine and was disappointed that there was not one in the house. These were just minor nuisances. We did enjoy the back deck. It was very private and relaxing. You can see a glimpse of Boulder Lake through the trees while on the back deck. In the winter time you will probably get more of a lake/mountain view when the leaves are off. We did go down to the Lake Club. It was very nice and clean. That is about a mile drive from the house. There is no lake access or pool directly in Laurelwoods. Most of the surrounding townhouse complexes use the Lake Club. Also, there is no playground located in Laurelwoods. It would have ben nice to take a walk after dinner down to the playground. The Lake Club has one but they close at 6pm.
As far as the area itself, there is plenty to do, you just have to seek it out. We have never been to the Poconos so we did not know what to expect. We went hiking at Bushkill falls, toured a candy and pretzel factory, went to historic Jim Thorpe, and Dorney Park. All great and we had so much fun. The only downfall to the area is that all of these places are spread out in opposite directions. Each trip took us about 45-60 minutes of drive time.
Overall, we would recommend this place to our family and friends. We had a great time.
