Quiet, comfortable bed, very clean. Decorated nicely, very cozy feeling. Nice continental breakfast in bright cheery sunroom. Great hiking nearby. Staff responsive to questions and had good recommendations for dining and hiking. Very responsive via text prior to stay even had hiking trail directions printed out for us prior to our arrival.
Overall very enjoyable stay. Everything was perfect!
We visited the Inn hotel to celebrate my husband’s birthday and take a much-needed break from my role as a caregiver for my mother. The weekend turned out to be exactly what we needed—it gave us the chance to unplug, recharge, and truly rest.
The staff were friendly, accommodating, and just lovely throughout our stay. The level of service we received far exceeded what you’d typically expect from a chain hotel. We were very pleased with every aspect of our experience and are so grateful for the care and attention that made our time there feel so special.
The property is in the middle of nowhere. Not convenient to anything close like restaurants or shopping. They were very short staffed. Little things, like the tv not working, breakfast starting 20 minutes late, restaurant out of chicken dishes, food (except the brownie sundae) was ok at best. Would not stay there again. Very expensive for a marginal experience. And don’t let Friends Lake Inn make you think it is on the water. You can just barely see a lake from second story.

This hotel is beautiful, old style Adirondacks with cute rooms and great dining. While it is charming, the bed at least in the room I had was a springboard type of mattress you’d find at a koa camp. For the price to stay there I was shocked with it being one of the most uncomfortable sleeps I’ve gotten at any hotel and I travel a lot. Beds are an important piece to me. Aside from the super uncomfortable bed, the place was really nice. They didn’t skip on any Adirondack decor, the food for dinner and breakfast were superb and the people working there from the front desk, wait staff, and bar tender were top notch excellent. The bathroom and items they supplied were phenomenal as well. But truthfully as ideal of a cozy all Adirondack charming place as this is, I won’t return unless they upgrade their mattresses. If they do then I’d be back in a heartbeat!
Very nice location. Would have enjoyed more activity like hiking or a pool or something on site. But it met our requirements for a beautiful place to stay with good food
Stay was off season, mid week. Quiet, Dove room was nice and cozy. Bed comfortable and warm. Breakfast offered in the am, staff friendly and helpful.
Yeah nice…

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Staff was very nice. Bed was comfortable. room was clean. 3 floors, no elevator with steep steps between 2nd and 3rd floors. Not good for heavy luggage. No extra toilet paper (just the roll on the holder) or soap 1 bar for 2 pedestal sinks. Rather drab and dated.
The Friends Lake Inn is an extraordinary destination. The grounds are gorgeous, the buildings are kept in perfect shape, and the rooms are excellent. The food is off the chart !! But the most outstanding part of our stay was the staff at the Inn. They are all dedicated professionals that strive to make your stay a memorable one. I would highly recommend Friends Lake Inn to anyone seeking exceptional service and quality
Only pro-room was clean and bed was comfortable. Place is like a ghost town, front desk always vacant with lights off.very dark, poor lighting on stairs. There is no customer service, no information about what place has to offer.
Restaurant-No chicken entree available at restaurant, no tap beer,
only decaf tea at breakfast, toaster over was very dirty. No fruit, yogurt, only plain bagel and english muffin, no variety.
Minimal staff, ice not readily available.
We stayed at Friends Lake Inn hoping for a relaxing getaway, but this visit was very disappointing. Upon arrival, the hotel was completely empty — no staff at the front desk, no note or key left for us, and no response to calls or texts. After waiting, we had no choice but to find and check ourselves into an unoccupied room.
Additionally, none of the usual amenities were available: the restaurant and bar were not operating. The next morning, a staff member admitted they had “forgotten” to leave a note, but no compensation or effort to make things right was offered.
For a hotel charging this rate, this level of service is unacceptable. What was supposed to be a relaxing getaway turned into a stressful experience.

Breakfast was supposed to be included. They changed without telling us in advance that it was Continental this week.
I only saw staff on the day I arrived and the day I left. There was no staff around while I was there. They didn’t tell me that there wasn’t any staff available or that there would only be “continental breakfast”. I was depending on the restaurant being open during my stay but I learned that the restaurant was closed when I went down to try and get some dinner.
I had wanted to cut my stay there short but no one was there. When I told the front desk of my disappointment, all she said was “I’m sorry” and didn’t really try to make amends.
This place had wonderful memories for me. I returned to this inn after a very long
