This hotel is a lovely hotel with aome very good staff. However, there is a mwmber of staff on reception who is not good the older lady. She is extremely dismissive and not the type of person who should be frontline team. The hotel itself was very clean and the breakfast reasonable, it appears to be if you shout you get better service during breakfast, orherwise you are kinda left to get on with it. Overall, good hotel, well placed, good pool. But mamagwment need to be aware of some staff.

Fantastic location with wonderful views over Lake Garda. Very good breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. Ideal location for exploring the lake. Quiet in the evening in Gardone to enjoy a good meal and wine either at the hotel or at the local restaurants. The exterior could do with a new coat of paint.

Beautiful hotel, very clean. Nice pool area and chilled out vibe. Breakfast was nice and served in nice surroundings. Rooms on ‘non lake side’ of property get quite a bit of road noise but this really isn’t hotel’s fault and was an issue at other properties in area as well

Old world feel Staff were good. No water in wash basins on first gym sauna and ground floor toilets by pool which seemed odd. Limited choice of cooked food for breakfast. Coffee tasted as if it was from ajar of dried granules and not fresh again odd for a 4vstar. Very good welcome buffet on Saturday

It was a beautiful hotel in a great spot, close to bars and restaurants and the boat to other places of interest like Sirmione and Limone. The hotel had a feel of 1930s glamour and was refined and genteel. Lovely breakfasts by the pool set with white table cloths and silverware.

Rather disappointing for a 4-star hotel
The location, overlooking Lake Garda, is excellent, the breakfast buffet is very good, and the evening meal is also good although the menu is fairly limited, so we only dined in the hotel a couple of times during our stay. Both times the tables were set outside near the pristine swimming pool as the weather was lovely. The first time, with Sebastiano, the Bar Manager, standing in for the regular Maitre D', it was fine; the second time the regular Maitre D' had returned, and what a charming chap! He heard that it was my wife's birthday and immediately provided 2 glasses of Prosecco. However, after the meal we asked the waitress for 2 coffees, but she said that the Maitre did not allow them to serve coffee outside so if we wanted coffee we would have to go upstairs to the bar! I had always assumed that hotels were set up for the benefit of the customers rather than the staff, but perhaps I'm mistaken. We found a number of other small things at the hotel rather disappointing; perhaps in a 2 or 3 star hotel one would have overlooked these rather small issues, but one expects more in a 4 star hotel (and having just come from a lovely 4 star hotel in Verona I'm afraid the Savoy Palace did not compare favourably). For example: no coffee sachets in the room ("hotel policy"!); bottled drinks provided but no bottle opener (told we could borrow one!); thin plastic tumblers instead of glasses in room; tedious wi-fi procedure (different U/N & P/W per device and repeated sign-on.

Amazing hotel in a fabulous location.
This is our about our tenth stay at the Savoy Palace Hotel and it just gets better and better. The staff are friendly and accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. The setting is beautiful, right on the lake and the rooms are serviced daily and there is a turn down service each evening. The breakfast is first class but the dinner menu did not entice us to dine at the hotel but there are many first class restaurants moments away. All in all a fabulous holiday in a fabulous location.

Lake Garda - Go ! Its A Fantastic Place
Fantastic! Hotel was lovely, great location, close to bars restaurants etc and Gardone village a short walk for more bars restaurants. Overall service was very good. Friendly staff that made a large hotel become a personal feel. Roof terrace at night form drinks was lovely, barman mad a few 'different; G&Ts !! Room was very nice, great lake view from room / balcony. Restaurant food was very good quality, price & choice (ate 3 of the 4 nights in hotel, which I have never done before). Recommend this hotel, hope to visit again! My ONLY comment, I wish the hotel restaurant deserts had more choice.

Lovely position.
Very good value. Nice hotel with lovely views. We hated the endless awful piped music. For us this really spoilt our timely the pool and sitting outside for breakfast. Otherwise, a very nice place to stay.

Nice atmosphere of faded grandeur and service was good for the most part. One exception was the guy who insisted the gate to the boardwalk was unlocked until we finally managed to drag him to the gate to show we were locked in the pool area. Breakfast was okay. Nonetheless it wasn’t a particularly comfortable stay. Air conditioning didn’t work very well and was really noisy. A hundred and fifty TV channels, but they were all Italian. Was hoping for CNN it BBC World News, but there was no English, German or French TV. WiFi was annoying. It kept disconnecting requiring a new log in with a 9 digit impossible to remember log in name and password. Though the bar is advertised as being open until midnight it is really hard to get a drink or any other service after 10:30.

Okay, but not great.
Surprised by all the great reviews - maybe we just had a bad room. The room we were given overlooked the main road, which was a shame as the hotel was chosen for it's location on the lakeside. When arriving we were surprised to find that the parking is not owned by the hotel, and that we must wake up before 9am to put money in the parking meter! When we went for breakfast at 9:45 on Saturday morning there was little left, but the tables by the pool in the sunshine was beautiful. Overall, our hotel room felt like it would be high quality a few decades ago, but today feels outdated and in need of an update.

Paradise on Lake Garda
We had eight days of pure luxury, being pampered, and it was heaven..everything we wanted and needed was there, the staff were lovely, the rooms were the best, the food was excellent, the pool was superb, though an extra step into it at the shallow end and a handrail there would be helpful to those of us who are less mobile and have a problem using the steps at the side...having said that i have not been in a pool for 30 years and really enjoyed my daily swim despite my difficulties getting out....we had a wonderful full body massage, a real treat i must say..There was an evening of opera in the lounge which was excellent and after which we had a superb dinner in the restaurant...Breakfast was outside by the pool and was again faultless...We had a bottle of Prosecco waiting in our room when we arrived , courtesy of the hotel, and very welcome...How could it have been any better ? It couldnt because it was more than perfect and was the best holiday we have ever had and the best hotel we have ever stayed in...We are planning to return !!!! Thankyou to everyone who made our holiday so wonderful...

We absolutely loved our time here. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The facilities are excellent and we loved the roof terrace and dining by the pool. The hotel is in a superb location for getting around the lake and there's plenty of local places to spend your evenings, although the food and service in the hotel restaurant was excellent. Would definitely stay here again.

We'd definitely stay here again. We had a lovely room with a balcony right by the water. (Great view!) The hotel was a little old, but everything was clean and comfortable. And its age gives it character. The staff were very nice. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Breakfast had great variety. (I'd skip the hotel restaurant for dinner.) And Gardone Riviera was a great little town. It had a lovely stone boardwalk. Enough restaurants to keep you happy at night. And there is very easy access from the hotel to the ferry to go all around the lake.

Great hotel, good location
Do not judge this hotel by its appearance if you arrive by road! It looks rather drab but, as soon as you walk around the other side, it all changes. Right on the lake, it has fantastic views, with a swimming pool, very good restaurant and friendly and attentive staff. We really enjoyed our short stay and look forward to returning soon for a longer time.

Beautiful location right on the lake
Excellent experience. The WIFI is only marginal as it worked best outside. However, the staff and the facility were excellent. Our 30th wedding anniversary was made that much more special when we were presented by the waitstaff with prosecco gratis! The breakfasts were delicious with many selections and the dinner we had at the restaurant was the best we had over our whole holiday. Definitely a "go-back-to" hotel!

Good choice
Close to some local restaurants and bars and easy walking distance to a nearby town with plenty more shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel has a quay side where water taxi are regular to enjoy trips across the lake.

We had a room facing the main road the first night. It was very loud and caused some disturbance. After letting the staff know this they kindly moved us to a wonderful room with a pool view, away from the road. The service was great and we would recommend this place if you choose a room facing the pool.

A beautiful hotel.
Hotel Savoy Palace, Gardone Riviera is a wonderful experience. An amazing restaurant with a first-class chef, friendly, efficient staff, and in a lovely location.

Service was very good and staff very helpful & friendly. Rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good but unfortunately the evening menu very limited and not particularly appetising. In particular my choice of scampi & waffles etc. was a disaster (dry, tasteless). Fortunately there a several other restaurants around to choose from. That said, we still enjoyed our stay. There is some interesting history associated with hotel with lots of old photos of it to see. There are lovely views of the lake and it is well located for visiting the sites in Gardone itself and for visiting other parts of the lake (boat or bus).

The maitre d' can be very rude. We were polite and asked him something. His response was unacceptable and unprofessional. He needs to listen. He needs to understand the needs of others, even though he may not agree. He needs sensitivity training. We are returning to Gardo Lake and cannot stay at your place, since his attitude is unacceptable.

Lovely hotel near lake quiet and relaxing
Had lake view room with big balcony, patio table and two chairs provided but no parasol which was needed as sun prevented you being able to sit out.I asked for parasol but was told I couldn't have one, I offered to rent one but still refused,

A super break in Gardone Riviera
Right on the lake front the Hotel Savoy Palace with sea view room on 4th floor was super. Location was perfect to enjoy the lake by ferry, road or on foot. Trips further afield to Milan and Venice also bookable via reception plus a fab night in Verona at the opera. The hotel staff, particularly catering and waiting staff were superb, very attentive, always friendly and made dining very pleasant indeed outdoors by the pool and indoors - it was a relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable. The food choice and standard/quality at breakfast, lunch and dinner was exceptional and flexible to accommodate allergies eg shellfish with alternative options. Staff were great with children too and occasional evening live musical entertainment - piano, guitar, singers was very good. All round a great hotel, excellent location (one of the nicer lake resorts) - can't fault it! Our 19yr old son thoroughly enjoyed everything and the swimming pool is fabulous with plenty of sun ess. Love to return one day. Well done Hotel Savoy Palace (and for the lovely arrival and departure gifts - a nice touch). Wish I was still there! In my opinion 10/10!

Very poor restaurant and service
We had a bad experience in the restaurant. We ordered wine. When the head waiter brought it, he asked us to taste it for approval. We did so, and discovered the wine had spoiled and was undrinkable. We requested him to take it back. He proceeded to taste the wine himself in front of us, and rudely said it was acceptable and perhaps we were not used to that kind of wine! He charged for the bottle which we did not drink, and refused to take the charge off the bill. The management agreed to remove the charge, but did not offer an apology for our upsetting experience and defended the waiter. In addition, the food in the restaurant was very poor. If you stay in this rather ordinary hotel (for the price) don't bother with the restaurant.

Lovely hotel.
We have stayed at this hotel twice, and have very much enjoyed our stay both times. The roadside façade is completely at odds with the rest of the hotel, the public areas are well furnished, most of the rooms at the rear of the hotel have splendid lake views and the overall ambience is one of relaxed comfort. The staff are without exception friendly and helpful, most of whom seek fluent English. Buffet style breakfast with an excellent choice. One restaurant not to be missed during any stay in Gardone is Sans Souci, the default choice for the locals pretty much says everything.

Hotel needs updating booked a standard room very basic for a 4 star hotel very noisy right next to main staircase could hear the live music in the lounge wifi rubbish room furniture past its best bed most uncomfortable ever slept in Very mouldy smell inside of wardrobe should of stayed at the Grand hotel !!!!!!!!! Worst of all the extra charge for using the air conditioning!!!!!!! would'nt give this hotel 4 stars possibly a 3 star
