Top Lake Carvel Hotel Reviews
the Alander
10/10 Excellent
"The Alander is a charming, well furnished/decorated hotel. We loved the greenery and the flowers surrounding the hotel. It was a peaceful place for a rest after a day of driving. We were disappointed that the restaurant was closed the day we stayed as we heard wonderful things about it. Next time!"
Beekman Arms and Delamater Inn
8/10 Good
"The Beekman Arms is a beautiful, historic hotel, and there is much to like about it. However, be warned: There is no elevator, and in its several buildings, the stairs are steep. Also be warned: the complementary breakfast is served in only one of the buildings (not the main one), and a walk of a block or two, depending on where you are staying, may be necessary, at times in the rain. On our second day there, the breakfast was disappointing, with the variety of breads and pastries present on our first day replaced by only one kind of bread and a soft roll. There were also no herbal teas available and only one variety of instant oatmeal. Our room on the second floor of the main house was charming but tiny, taken up mostly by a four-poster bed that, for my wife, was about chest high. The stool provided to enable her to get into it was helpful, but some might be put off. The huge, thick mattress was, however, quite comfortable. We got an unusually good rate on the room, due (according to the hotel) to the 250th anniversary year of the U.S. I would say it is questionable whether, with all its quirks and the tiny room, our stay would have been worth the higher, usual rate. But it was interesting to stay at an historic site decorated with authentic memorabilia of its illustrious past."
Howard Johnson by Wyndham Saugerties
8/10 Good
"The staff was friendly and professional. The free parking was a plus. Access to key area roads was great. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable."
Courtyard by Marriott Kingston

"Every one of the staff were so friendly and welcoming. we will be back again next year for The Festival!!"
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Saugerties - Hudson Valley by IHG
8/10 Good
"Much better than expected for location and ratings shown when I booked."
Rhinecliff Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Very cozy hotel/inn right on the Hudson river overlooking Kingston on the other side. Set in a very quaint little village of the same name. Room was large with a large bathroom with a deep tub and shower. The room also had a private balcony with incredible views of the Hudson river. Check in was more like an Airbnb with no check-in desk or staff. You get an access code by text.the day of your visit and your room key is on the front table withyour name on it. Up the road is a small market and across the street is a small restaurant. I think the only issue we had was that the hotel is right across the street from an Amtrak station and the trains can be quite loud as they pass. Wonderful stay overall!"
Residence Inn by Marriott Kingston

AutoCamp Catskills
10/10 Excellent
"I had a great experience at AutoCamp! The property was beautiful, clean, and very peaceful. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and everything was well maintained. I also really loved how pet-friendly it is, which made the experience even better. It was such a relaxing getaway and a great way to enjoy the outdoors while still being comfortable. I would definitely recommend AutoCamp and would love to come back again!"
Hampton Inn Kingston
8/10 Good
"The property was well-maintained. The pool was wonderful. The breakfast was good and so convenient when you are traveling for the day. My only criticism would be that there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom."
