The stay was an excellent experience, the restaurants with waitress service was a Prime service, but upon check out they charged us for the entire stay that had already been paid on Expedia. Then they gave us the Expedia credit, which I bought because it was a good deal, but the hotel charged me the regular hotel rate which is about $156.40 more per night. I called Expedia and they are working on the situation, I hope they honor the Expedia price.

I found the areas and serene ambiance of the hotel wonderful. This hotel has the potential of a being a fabulous 5 star facility. The staff is friendly but seemed overwhelmed (understaffed). Also in need of better training and owning guest complaints. The f&b staff at the main restaurant, was almost good (at this time just ok). The fine dining staff was very good. I believe that with additional training of the staff, this hotel could be a secluded jewel. We loved the integration of the Natural Resources into the surroundings.

This property is absolutely stunning and immaculate. It is a secluded hotel, it is very clean, friendly staff, the views are breathtaking and the beach is safe and perfect for small children and snorkeling. I wouldn’t say it’s suitable for swimming as it is mostly shallow. Nonetheless, there are numerous beaches close to the property for swimming and other activities. The on-site drinks and food are delicious, but the prices are a bit high. We plan to visit again soon!

The shore of our beach changes seasonally, sometimes deeper, and other times shallower, but just steps away from our restaurant is Caña Gorda, the public beach which the guests have access to by walking from our shore. We also offer trips by ferry to Gilligan’s Island, which is a natural area protected by the Federal Natural Resources Department. Nice and beautiful resort. But restaurants are expensive, beach is not great and full of vegetarians, and no special programming entertainment or shows were provided.

Fantastic resort. Immediate area is fairly impoverished, resort was wonderful. Beaches clean on the resort (not so much outside the resort unfortunately), easy to rent a kayak and snorkeling gear. Nice having onsite restaurant, as dining options a bit limited in Guanica and beyond. Mellow vibe, fellow guests were kind and not there for all night party atmosphere. Hiking nearby.

It was beautiful for anyone who enjoys being close to the beach! The pools were close, the boardwalk was close, their shack was close. It was an amazing place to be away from the city.

Room opened up to a broad esplanade. Venetian blinds and screens for fresh ocean breezes. Chill vibe. Not too crowded. Pretty remote—the final 3 miles are twist curvy narrow. Guánica still recovering from hurricane and earthquake 1-2.

Copamarina is a lovely little resort with 2 pools and oceanfront location. The hotel is very clean and well taken care of. There is a small gym that is adequate for an average fitness person. The spa is nice but WAY over priced. A 2 hour massage and facial before tip was $500. In fact everything at Copamarina is expensive. The room rates are okay but expect to spend $50 or more for every meal after taxes, fees and tip even a simple breakfast. Its a pretty and relaxing hotel but there is nothing to do besides sun, pool, hire a boat, eat and drink. If you want super low key in a friendly environment then this place is great. The bed was comfortable, the room was big and the staff was really nice and helpful. People actually talk to each other instead of being on their phones. We met and got friendly with lots of other guests which was nice. The only downside was non of the rooms are ocean front, more like ocean view, a bit over priced, not near anything and buggy at night. And several guests got stung pretty badly from jelly fish so we stayed out of the ocean.

The property was really breathtaking. Very well cared for and the staff very accommodating. Food was great-we often ate at the bar off the lunch menu. There was sea grass to deal with at the beach as others mentioned. The pools were well taken care off too. During our 9 nights we saw 4 weddings at the resort. Pretty common so know that atmosphere is there. We were fine celebrating our 30th anniversary so it was relatable. The neighboring public beach has less sea grass and clearer water but has been closed since the earthquake. You can still walk the shoreline to it. The area around Guanica is an old sugar factory. Old town, somewhat desolate and run down but a couple great restaurants right on the bay. Super food newer vibe and well done. Trasiego Sea Food Restaurant And El Desafío Bar & Grill. Great place and great nice folks. EXPEDIA however was terrible to deal with. Don’t use them to book a trip. They may price out trips at the highest rates, then negotiate discounts for their behalf. The hotel showed what Expedia sent them vs what we were charged. $450 diff. Expedia used to have a price guarantee and send you the diff if the price dropped now they keep it. Just deal with the hotel and save.

The room we were in was not soundproof, it was noisy late at night. We were not given information on all activities and times, specifically exercise classes?? and what spa treatments were available and times. No information about hiking trails or nature.

The beach and room was great. Some members of staff were not specially the from desk and the host at the informal restaurant. They keep us waiting close to 30 minutes at arrival because they couldn’t find our reservation.

Amazing property if you are looking for a quiet place to stay but it’s pretty far from most other attractions on the island. Staff was fantastic and the drinks were great. Only thing that could improve is the quality of food and the drink prices are pretty high.

The grounds are nice. The food at the restaurants is generally good. The staff are friendly and helpful, and they all switch easily between English and Spanish depending on the language of preference of the guest. We had paid for an oceanfront deluxe room through Expedia, but when we checked in, those rooms were full, and we were given a regular garden view room. Because we had booked through a third party, Copamarina could not issue us a refund for the difference, but we are currently working with Expedia to recoup that difference. (We'll see what happens.) There are no Ubers in the area, and taxis are expensive. We rented a taxi service recommended by Copamarina and went to a beach about 20 minutes away called La Jungla. The beach was recommended to us by our lovely waitress Kamil and it was idyllic. The snorkeling side trip to Gilligan's Island through Copamarina was excellent. Copamarina also helped us set up transportation between San Juan and Copamarina with the fantastic taxi driver Luis. He was prompt, communicative, and helpful, and the price was very reasonable. The cost is high for the quality of the food, the room, and the beach. That said, we had a relaxing, lovely time overall.
