Lovely traditional hotel
The new owners are excellent, its a very big undertaking to return this lovely hotel to its past glory, but never the less, it was an enjoyable and relaxing stop over, in a wonderful setting
A l’année prochaine! 😃
Matratzen waren in Ordnung.

Pros - Nice breakfast (but get there early as there are no refills of the food). Conveniently located a short drive to the town and convenient for onward travel. Evening meal was tasty and good onsite brewed beer. Nice setting when you arrive, small animal paddock, lake and peacocks strolling around!
Cons - practical yet extremely dated room and damaged flooring and appliances, our room was located in the opposite building to the brauhaus.
Despite the above, which we can live with, our review reaction to this hotel is driven by 2 points that really influence a hotel experience - (1) the service from start to finish felt as if we were an inconvenience staying; (2) The Friday night live band and party literally outside our room which went on till 1am. People having fun is great, however I feel somewhat disrespected by being asked to and openly/happily paying for the booking on Friday morning, the morning before the party. Looking back on being asked it is almost as if they knew that many people would be frustrated by the noise level throughout the night. There was nobody on the reception desk for me to provide feedback and at no point during booking did the hotel indicate a 'lively' atmosphere.
If you drink enough of the brewed beer I guess you will sleep through anything! Excluding the beer this hotel does not offer value for money considering the condition and quality of the room and really doesn't help itself with the service.
Freundliches entgegenkommendes Personal. Das "Hausbier" ist ein Muss!!

Hotel to be avoided
This was my first trip here as I had prebooked 2 week-ends. I wish I hadn't.
The bad: difficult to check-in in the evenings as you have to hunt for someone and where to look? . Service very, very slow. A lot of late night noise from beer garden so disturbed sleep. More disturbed sleep the next morning from the resident peacocks wandering around and making their morning cries. We were locked in on our checkout day as the exterior door was locked and our key wouldn't turn the lock. I had to shout at someone from the window of our room. A clear danger in case of fire. Breakfast items fail to get replaced and you often have items that are gone. One or two of the staff are very unfriendly. Those same staff are slow and unhelpful - does the owner not check these things?
The good: their homemade beers are good - when/if you can get served
I just wrote a review for this place that disappeared after submitting.
I'm not going to write it all again.
To sum up in a word for this hotel ' AVOID'
Erg leuke plek met typisch Duitse Sfeer. Kamers zijn mooi gedecoreerd. Restaurant is gezellig en brouwt eigen bier.

literie bonne bien dormis
