"We had a fantastic time. The house is roomy, comfortable, and extremely well laid out. The fireplace gave us a beautiful chance to warm up in the evenings and review our days, while listening to a pair of Tawny Owls. Casa Milonga is very close to Praia da Marinha -- a stunning beach and breathtaking coastline. The long hike along the coast is stunning. And it was easy to drive to more distant places, both east and west. This is the perfect place for a relaxed vacation."

"We arrived during a rain storm. After the check in, we found that our apartment was leaking water through the roof. After a phone call with the host, we were transferred to another apartment, which was also flooded. Finally, a third apartment was dry enough, but it was really run down and without WiFi (very important to us). After agreeing to stay there for a week until an adequate apartment was free, we were again transferred to a 4th apartment, which was nicely furnished, but had black mold on...

"Our holiday did not start well as we were not given the key code and spent 2 hours in full sun trying to attain it. Communication between the owner and ourselves was non existent. On entering the property we experienced a strong smell of drains in the bathroom. This continued during the entire week. On day 1 the electricity tripped and InterReal, the management company in Corveiro explained that this was because the property owner had not paid the bill. The fridge was set so low that it froze...

"I wasn’t sure what to expect when booking Vale da Lapa Village, but it completely blew me away. The property is stunning, the villa was spacious and comfortable, and the service was warm and welcoming. Andre checked us in and provided all the details we needed to enjoy our stay. We booked the half-board option, not realizing it included both breakfast and dinner—what an amazing surprise! The food was delicious, and while service at the restaurant was on the slower side (possibly cultural differences), the staff was always friendly. We stayed in a 2-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom villa, and it was perfect for our family of four—plenty of room to spread out. I only wish we had more time to relax and enjoy the property itself. The grounds were beautifully maintained, though I’d love to see some additional pathways through the center of the resort to make getting around easier. The beds were quite firm, which didn’t bother me but might not be for everyone. On our last day, we noticed a few ants around the kitchen sink—possibly due to pouring soda down the drain—but overall, the villa was very clean and well-kept. The metal shutters on all windows and patio doors were unexpected but seemed to help with security, light, and sound. A car or Uber is definitely needed to get around, but the peaceful setting made it all worth it. Out of the three places we stayed during our trip, this was hands-down the favorite for our whole family."

Staff were always friendly and helpful, making us feel very welcome. The location is beautiful, with great on-site resources and easy access to the surrounding area. Would definitely recommend and hope to return!"
