The cabin was set up so appropriately, had everything we needed to cook in meals, grill outside, and it was all very clean. Cindi was readily available, as well. We would love to stay there again. Thank you!
This was a great place to unwind. I would go back tomorrow if we only could. Our host was very easy to reach out to and communicate with. The house and beds linens - everything was so well done. The beds were comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay.
The cabin is very cute and cozy. We love the four-season porch and all the seating areas outside. The kitchen is stocked well for cooking and baking. The river was low but just right for my granddaughter's first-time kayaking. The hosts were very responsive.
We love this cabin. It’s decorated so nicely with the bear theme and clean and cozy. We enjoyed the gazebo (had meals and played games there), fire pit and the river, everything was great. So private, surrounded by the woods and nature. Relaxing!
Very clean, cute, and cozy cabin. We loved the gazebo, views of the river, and the cabin accommodations were perfect! Being surrounded by quiet woods and nature helped us relax the minute we got there! We hope to stay here again!
Beautiful remote forested area, on river, providing absolute peace, quiet and comfort. Cabin has all amenities to take stay just wonderful! A true slice of heaven!
We loved the bear cabin. All the rooms are thoughtfully done. Enjoyed the games and movies. The screened gazebo and swing by the Thornapple river were favorites. We look forward to returning again.
We had a fabulous time at the ‘bear’ cabin. Enjoyed all the outdoor spaces - playing games and having dinner in the gazebo, the glider overlooking the river and the fire pit. The house itself was clean, warm and comfortable. We look forward to returning soon.
We loved our time at this beautiful cabin. The setting was idyllic, and all of the outdoor seating made for lots of reading and journaling! We appreciated that the hosts supplied a pack and play and baby gate for our one year old. We loved how remote the cabin felt, yet in reality, it’s only a few miles away from everything you would need! You can tell the owners have put a lot of time and care into making this cabin feel hospitable and warm. We absolutely loved our stay, and hope to be back!
We loved the warmth and serenity of this beautiful cabin. There was a lot of time spent in the screened in gazebo, playing board games and enjoying meals under soft ambient lights and a fan for the hot days. The Thornapple River, a gentle giant, has become an old friend. Not sure we heard another human voice the entire stay, but we saw deer, ducks, and eagles. Safe to say we loved every second! We'd be grateful to visit again!
Stunning property! Quiet, secluded yet close to downtown Ladysmith. Beautiful Thornapple river running through the rear of the property. The river was low but Cindi allowed us to use the kayaks and we just coasted up and down the river as far as the depth would allow. So serene. The cabin itself is super comfortable and had everything we needed. Really enjoyed the fire pit and listening to wildlife come alive after the sun went down. 10/10. Cindi was very responsive to our questions and gave us great suggestions for dinner. Great trip!
We booked for a work retreat, to plan our next trainings. My work partner and i are both workaholics....I swear the listing included wifi... alas, the universe (and no wi fi) decided we were *in fact there to relax*! And so we did. Late nights at the fire, talking about life and such. We did squeeze in a bit of planning... the property though is designed to chill! Thank you, it was just what we needed.
This was our get-away trip for our 50th wedding anniversary! It was a pleasure to enjoy the calm and natural setting of "Bearadise On The Thornapple River"! Cindi was the perfect host and communication was flawless. It's appropriate for couples, small families, friends and even individuals who don't mind sharing and are happy taking the path less traveled! It's located down a private road so there's not a lot of traffic zipping back and forth to have to worry about. Town is 4 miles away and offers plenty of options for re-supply trips while also offering suitable places to fuel up and get a meal. I even fished off their riverside dock and caught a 1-1 1/2 pound Smallmouth Bass (a little Bronzeback).... non-residents, don't forget to stop at Ace Hardware in Ladysmith to get your fishing license. I also saw Wood ducks, an Otter or Beaver, gobs of Chipmunks, and the Coyotes even serenaded us one night right outside the cabin on the actual date of our anniversary! For us, it didn't get no better and I was sort of sad to have to leave this morning (16 Sep 2024)! If you need to unwind, unplug and re-charge your batteries....this is it! This is the Southern boundary of the Northwoods and it's calling your name! Larry H. 13-16 Sep 2024
