The Inn is going through full remodel on second floor. I stayed on third floor and the power tool noise is loud, you can’t sleep in. Never saw any notice on line or told on phone at booking there was a remodel underway. Energy control on heat does not allow room adjustment, room was cold. The folks at the Inn are very nice. It’s off season so I understand the remodel now, but should have been told upfront what to expect.

Courtney at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The food at the tavern was good our room was clean and well insulated. I didn't hear a noise from the nearby lobby. They also three tesla chargers that can be used against a $25 fee.

Nice employees, Inn needs major renovations.
The people working at the Inn were wonderful. Unfortunately the Inn is in need of some major renovation. We were disappointed to find the bar and restaurant were closed on New Years Eve.

Everything was fine except the room temperature was 81 degrees with no way of turning down the heat and we had to open the windows to sleep. The water press in the shower was as low as it gets. For $200 a night I was disappointed.

Renovations are needed for the bathrooms, fixtures are very old, lights were out on the sconces. The only light was above the shower. No dining options were available on Sunday early evening at the hotel. Continental breakfast was presented on Monday. Previous visits offered full restaurant dining in pub like atmosphere for both dinner and breakfast. Room service was offered previously. Very disappointing on a snowy evening after a difficult travel day.

So where do I start… first of all whatever card you use to book with is used to pay for the room before you arrive and it was a big hassle to split the room price with a family member since we were staying a couple of nights. Then there is no housekeeping during your stay so it was a hassle to get more towels or have the garbage changed. The room I stayed it was too hot and the air conditioning didn’t work well and I tried to turn the heat off but that didn’t work too. They offer breakfast in the lower tavern had bagels on a plate with no tongs and people were picking them if with there fingers and nothing was covered. They are in need of an upgrade.

In town for one night. The first impression from outside, not at all what the photos online look like. Needs some maintenance on the building asthetically. But. Still nice. When I checked in they put us in room 103 just behind the fireplace in the lobby. The fireplace wasn’t on. However the room was so hot. Even with the air on. I went to the front desk before we left for dinner and let them know. Not to change rooms but to inform and in hopes they could turn the heat off somehow. It was on off and still so hot. They gave us a different room upstairs and bigger which was nice. And air. One thing they need to improve on is housekeeping. Dusty heat registers in the bathrooms and hair on the beds. They should add mirrors to each room too. They charge an extra $50 hold on your card and it is released when you checkout. However I checked out two hours ago and it has yet to return to my bank so who knows yet. An additional $34 seasonal fee. Although it is off peak after Columbus Day! That’s kind of irritating. I found out that the room was hot in 103 because the boiler is below it. Maybe don’t use that as a room. The breakfast is more of a snack bar. Bagels, yogurt, coffee. I don’t know. I wasn’t overly impressed. But it was the cheapest in the area for one night.

The location is wonderful and the front desk staff were very nice. However, those are the only good things about the property. The condition of the guest toom and common areas is very poor. Numerous stains on the carpet and ceiling. Obvious “fixes” or touch ups in the bathtub and ceiling. The towels were old and course. I would not return unless a major renovation was completed

Enjoyable stop over
We had an excellent one night stop on our way to Maine. The location is perfect for “walking town”, it’s close to many shops and restaurants. The private beach is small, but inviting. The continental breakfast was perfect for us to start our day.

Property aged, but clean. Beautiful location. Reception OK. AM staff could be more hospitable. Disappointed that tavern was closed and continental breakfast very limited. Stale bagels and ran out of yogurt.

The staff was very nice & helpful. Bad reviews seemed to exaggerate the negative. We thought it was pretty good, little outdated but it was clean, excellent location & friendly helpful staff.

I've stayed at the Inn several times now and there is always some issue. For example - the room is too hot in the summer, too cold in the winter, or someone was smoking in the adjacent room, and it came into my room through the bathroom vent. This time there was very low water pressure in the shower. I literally had to stand underneath the shower head and let the water fall on me. Whenever I notify the staff, they say sorry, but nothing ever improves at the Inn. It's time to stay somewhere else.
