Location: Poconos, Northeastern Mountains, Pennsylvania, USA (Slope-side next to lodge, pool, water slides etc on Ski-Big Bear Mountain).

Closest home to the brand-new ski & pool lodge, which is adjacent to the tennis courts, swimming pool, country store, restaurant, bar, playground, basketball, tennis courts. There is also a community boating lake, beach, fitness center and equestrian center.
Twin master bedrooms, baths and showers have built in stereos.
A Very Special Estate: Welcome to Himmlischer Chateau (Heavenly Home), where the dream, group vacation experience comes together through the eyes of an award-winning developer and theme park designers. Himmlischer is more than a house – it is an entertainment venue purposely designed for groups of all ages. This may well be the nicest house for rent in the Poconos but why take our word for it, click the web site link at the bottom and read our customer reviews.
Location Details: Location Himmlischer is located at the top of a private four season community complex, offering year round activities. The lodge, restaurant, bar, food market, pool, tiki bar, waterslides, tennis, basketball, volleyball, and bocci ball courts are right next to the house at the lodge. You won't get run over while teaching your kids how to ski here and you park just once and ski-in and out the whole week. There is also a fitness center, beach, horseback riding, fishing, boats and sport courts to use. A spa with indoor pool, golf, rafting, canoeing, paintball, Eagle Institute observation area, museums, miniature golf, go carts, batting cages antiquing and family fun park are all minutes away.
House Design: The center piece of the top floor is a commercial, Tapan-Yaki steak house kitchen and nicer furniture and cabinets than I have in my own home. Before drafting the house, we blueprinted the fun for every activity and part of our think-tank process was considering where adults and children of each age group would congregate. Adults savor the top floor most often and teenagers congregate in the game room. We put plasma TV’s and DVD players in 3 of the bedrooms so that parents can put cartoons on for toddlers. The first floor was designed for families with the youngest children in mind. Since they are usually the first to wake up and go to the game room theater, everyone else above them can still get some sleep. We also recognized how hard it can be to get kids to eat when they are having fun, so we put an extra kitchen on this level and a card table. Every conceivable thing that you will do here, we have done at other rentals and brainstormed about making it better.

My family and I had THE ABSOLUTE BEST TIME in this home. Between the cooking and relaxing in the hot, to also playing games and movie night. This house was hands down breathtaking. Thank you from the Capomolla family
Property is as advertised; Perfect for 8 adults and 4 kids Ages 6 mos to 5 yrs old. Property manager was very attentive with thoughtful posted FAQ's and house manual. Sufficiently equipped and close to mountain activities even when insufficient snow for ski-in ski-out. Kitchen is well equipped to cook every night with a full crew. We were able to locate a baby rental company to bring some cribs in which easily fit into the two bedrooms across from the two master bedrooms. Look forward to our next visit. Ski mountain is very young family friendly with plenty of beginner areas. This was a warm and rainy (mostly misty) Christmas and the ski mountain teams made the most out of constantly deteriorating conditions to enable keeping the mountain open the entire time - not an easy task without mother nature accommodating with colder temps to make snow..
Let me start by saying that my entire family enjoyed the house and we plan on inquiring again next year to rent this house for our annual winter escape. The house was everything that I excepted, the bedroom layout was perfect for my children and grandchildren. In spite of the -21 wind chill temp the house was very comfortable, and the fireplaces were a bonus. The large projection TV was a hit especially watching the Super Bowl on it. The dining and kitchen layout worked great for us to all eat together. This is by far the best house that I have ever returned, and I rent homes 2X per year. Thank you for letting us enjoy this house.
The property was well maintained and met all our needs. It will be on our return list for sure as we have stayed in several homes in this community over the years and this one beat them by a mile.

Well, there was really no counter space, a big hibachi grill in the middle of the kitchen that we were not allowed to use, as well as a wonderful wood burning fireplace that was also off limits. Sliding doors we were not allowed to open. There were a lot of restrictions for this house. More than I have encountered in any other rental.
Had a great time at this rental. It was exactly what we needed for a nice long weekend in the summer. We used the amenities provoded by the community they were in and the kids had a blast. Everyone on the trip was extremely happy with the properry, the professionalism and the ease of renting through them. Great all around. Will definitely be looking to stay at this rental again as well as other properties managed by them.
We had a blast at this hoise. My only complaint was the hood system over the grill wasn’t the best. The top level smelled like whatever had had cooked the night before. Overall the house was a blast.

Accurate
The pictures on the website is exactly how the place looks. The only I think they should mention, it has 3 levels with the kitchen at the top. A very beautiful place
We booked the chateau for my parter's 50th birthday and spent the weekend with a group of friends. The property rep was very responsive and made the rental process easy. The property itself was beautiful and everyone was impressed by the space, the location, and the thoughtfulness of how everything was laid out. We will definitely be renting this space in the future for more group getaways!

Beautiful upstairs living area
The rooms upstairs were beautiful, as was the living room and dining area. We didn’t get to enjoy the house to the fullest. My group had another house, where most of our time was spent.
We had a group stay here for a team retreat and it was so much fun! We had great weather and loved riding around in the golf cart. It did run out of gas after only one ride, but Nancy was so great to work with and we had gas delivered to us that same day! The house itself was spacious - I will say there was just enough bowls and silverware for us since we were a large group so if the items were in the dishwasher we had to wait. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend!

Guestbook Comment
My husband and I stayed at this property with 3 other couples the first week of Nov08. I was thrilled to find that the house was immaculately clean. The bedrooms were more spacious than the pictures portrayed. We were so comfortable in the house with all of its amenities that we ventured out only once. The community is very quiet. The house is very relaxing and definitely family-friendly - I hope to book again soon!
The property is everything it says it is… and more! The house is beautiful and well laid out to give us both a place to gather together (9 of us) and spaces to spend time alone/as couples, if needed. The check in process and communication of the homeowners was easy and accurate. It is in a community setting that requires day passes for the amenities nearby and in my option are well worth it! You can walk to the main lodge area through the back yard (in the summer). The pool and the pond (more like a lake) with a beach were both close day trips that made everyone happy. We made almost all our meals in the amazing kitchen but there are restaurants nearby if that’s more your style. Highly recommend!
The property was as expected. Nice bedrooms, although double bunks in the two single rooms would be better than the futon and air mattress offerings. Also the queen bed caves in the middle and really needs to be another King. The bathrooms in the masters are a bit odd in that there is no door between the bedroom door and the shower so if you hop out of the shower and someone walks in the bedroom….The theater sound also needed adjustment as the surround sounds needed to be deafening in order to hear the dialogue. I’d also like another dining table option as it sleeps 14 but only has 8 dining chairs. But overall it is a nice house with nice views and is on the slope. It made for a great Christmas!
The Chateau was everything it was advertised to be (except that the bubble hockey game has been replaced by a shuffleboard table). The LARGE projection TV was great for movies and the Olympics, and the games and big screen on the lower level provided plenty of entertainment for the younger set although the pool table needs to be leveled and the pockets are in disrepair.
There’s lots to do in the area, including all the activities at Masthope (swimming pool, mini golf, basketball, tennis, cornhole, skiing in season), Lake Masthope, plus hiking, horseback riding within thirty minutes.
On the down side, unless you’re really into using the large professional griddle in the kitchen, it’s more bother than useful. Daily oiling is a must, whether you use it or not, unless you want to spend an hour scrubbing it at the end of your stay. The house is great for young, mobile people, but the stairs are steeper than the average house so it is not accessible to elderly or handicapped individuals.

Ok stay. Should be better for this price point.
I will start out by saying it was good to get to the mountain to disconnect and relax for a reset. Now I will get to the rundown of the property. When we pulled up and saw the outside we all were like "Oh no...what did we do!!???". We got in and looked around and at quick glance we were like this is awesome. The good points are it was quiet, the deer were everywhere and wild turkeys walking through as well. Kitchen, dining room and living room area was large and spacious. The big screen TVs and pool table awesome. Now let's get to what was not good. Hair in the shower, sticky residue on the kitchen chairs and floor. Food residue on dishes and pots and pans. The cushions on the dining room chairs felt like you were sitting on a toilet seat We also experienced broken windows, blinds and furniture as well as missing window screens. The AC/Heating vents were filthy in the living room and dining room area. Cobwebs were prevalent in the windows as well. The beds were noisey everytime you rolled over and the walls and floors are soooo paper thin you fell like you are part of the conversation in the other room and on the other floor. The close proximity to the ski lift is cool but off season you are looking at maintenance equipment. Whatever you do, make sure you have everything you need from the store when get there because running to any sizeable store like Walmart is a 1 hour travel ordeal roundtrip not counting time spent shopping. Thank God for our Instacart delivery person on one day that we were not feeling the drive. Oh..and we had to do some cleaning before we checked out which is odd. Not sure who is in charge of maintenance but the owner should get his money back from whoever he hired. If it is the owner maintaining this place he needs help or some training. The booking process and tons of forms to sign is way over the type for this property. I signed less paperwork to stay in a way better property in Kauai. I can honestly say this is a one and done for me and my family.

Big Disappointment
From website photos, previous reviews, & the high rental price of this home we were expecting fabulous, but instead found the house & rental experience to be a huge disappointment. We rent large homes each summer for our family (10 years now) & never had an experience like this. The manager Scott came across with an attitude that he was doing us a favor by allowing us to rent this home. No emails were returned when I had questions prior to arrival. The house diagram on their website shows an air mattress in each room & states the home sleeps 20. One of my 3 questions was whether all these air mattresses were in the home so we knew how many linens to pack (traveling by plane), but Scott never had the courtesy to reply even after several attempts. When we arrived we found only one air mattress, which did not have the proper attachments to inflate & didn’t hold air for even half the night. The house was worn & in the worse condition of any rental we have stayed in: oven door didn’t close, the ice maker was extremely slow or nonfunctioning, the couch had large tears, most of the beds creaked loudly when you moved or got in or out, the downstairs shower didn’t drain properly, the dining chairs sank in & felt like they were falling apart, etc. The noise from family members walking on the top level wood floors woke up the people sleeping below each morning. On top of this, my daughter took pictures of all the signs & warnings throughout the house about losing your deposit: don’t touch the wires or lose your deposit, check chemicals each day or lose $100, trash must be taken to compactor or charge will be taken from your deposit, late check out penalty of an extra day’s charge, etc. — we counted & took pictures of over 40 signs. We laughed about this craziness, but certainly didn't make for a welcoming environment. We did like the community amenities, golf cart & soaking in the hot tub. We browsed through reviews the last night there & and thought they must be talking about a different home or they weren't actual renters. If you like to pack & bring all your own linens/towels (they can’t afford a high efficiency washer like other large rentals?), to be constantly reminded while on vacation of what you must do or shouldn’t do, don’t mind paying a high price for a very average home, desire no answers to questions from a manager with an attitude that you are lucky to pay a high price to stay there for a week, then this may be exactly what you are looking for!
I travel with my family every year, we try to find special places to gather and this definitely makes it for us. The living room and game room are ideal for watching movies or playing, which means a lot if you travel with children. I think we found a special one here.
