"We had a great stay at the villa this August. The villa is very clean and has all the amenities that you could require. Our children loved the pool which was heated and undercover so we did not have to worry about them getting sunburnt. Plenty to do in the surrounding areas. A highlight was the ability to order bread and pastries each morning to be delivered to the villa. Although there was a slight language barrier with the hosts, they were always quick to reply to us and were very nice helpful...

"The check in was great. We had a wonderful holiday at the house, beautifully appointed, it was clean and perfect sleeping arrangements for all 10 of us.it had everything you needed in the kitchens (2) for cooking, plenty of plates, utensils, pots ,dishes etc. two dishwashers (one a bit temperamental). "Deze locatie was zo mooi in de natuur! Prachtige vlinders gezien die van alle kanten vandaan kwamen. Het hele terrein was een ontdekking voor zowel de kinderen als de volwassenen. Ondanks de regen hebben we een fijn verbmijf gehad. Grappig toen we de eerste keer in het water sprongen en dat het zo ondiep was haha. Maar daardoor voor de kinderen weer veilig. Alleen zijn de badkamers wat toe aan liefde. De rest van het huis was schoon en goed te vertoeven Wij hebben het heerlijk gehad."

"We were group of family and friends stayed in the house. We were bit dissapointed by the property mainly due to:1. The full house is not together but in 2 different section bit detached to each other. This means that everyone cannot stay together in the same house, which was not expected by us and was not even clear in the description of the property.2. The property is in middle of nowhere. "The Manoir d’Isly was delightful. It has spacious rooms with high ceilings, 4 en-suites and 2 family shower rooms, lovely places for dining inside and out and a well-equipped kitchen. The pool, 2 table tennis tables, trampoline and baby-foot were great for the kids (aged 9-14).The attic bedroom with 4 beds is rather hot in the height of summer - luckily we didn’t need to use it. Fans are provided which is great.Excideuil has plenty of local activities including canoeing, tennis, running, markets, velorail, activity lake (de rouffiac) high ropes water-skiing etc. L’Anagramme is an excellent restaurant in town. If you want to drive an hour and a quarter, there’s even more to do around the Dordogne river itself.Thank you Mathilde for looking after us."

"Expected more for the high cost. Bed linen inferior and pillows badly stained. Did not enjoy the extended cleanliness tour. Furniture worn. Shower mastic needed replacement. Outside gravel area needed weeding. All-in-all not up to expectations. Owners pleasant but overly intense. Kitchen nice. Garden relatively small. Pool warm but opening/closing pool cover and plastic walls of gazebo as instructed every day was tiresome. Nice seating area behind pool. Jacuzzi very nice. Outside griddle very useful. Shame lovely views restricted by hedges. Awful smell from septic tank (?) on occasions which even meant closing door into house at times. This was the most expensive rental we have ever stayed in having been in many 3/4 bedroom villas with heated pools before in France, Europe and across 4 continents. At around 300 euros a night it should have been better. Sorry we were really disappointed compared to the week before which was half the price and a had a lovely heated pool in a large garden with quality bed linens, furniture and free electric bikes. Sorry Nadine and Jean-Pierre the gite was not for us. "

"We thought we'd booked a hotel and were pleasantly surprised to find it a B&B. It's close to the highway but not in town and we were tired so we took advantage of the offer for an evening meal. The meal was what I have been expecting since I got to France. It was the best meal I've had in France. I can't wait for breakfast. The place is run by a nice, hard working, young couple who do a great job of making you feel welcome and comfortable. "
