Welcome to North House, a custom-built retreat nestled in the woods on beautiful Madeline Island, just three miles from Big Bay State Park. Surrounded by nature and set on a large private yard, this home offers the perfect balance of comfort, space, and tranquility—ideal for families or groups looking to relax and reconnect.

The expansive yard is perfect for lawn games, quiet mornings on the deck, or unwinding in the cozy three-season porch. Inside, the home features an open-concept layout designed for gathering. The full kitchen includes a breakfast bar with seating, making it easy to cook and connect at the same time. Just off the kitchen, the spacious family room invites you to relax by the stunning floor-to-ceiling fireplace.

Large windows throughout the home flood the space with natural light and create a seamless connection to the surrounding woods, giving you the feeling of truly communing with nature.

Lots of space

It was a very nice house, private, lots of inside and screen porch space. Lots to look at, that was appreciated.

It is a beautiful home in a beautiful setting.

Overall, it was a good experience. There were a few things that could be improved upon. The water in upstairs bathroom sink and shower were very slow draining. The lights in the kitchen were burned out, and the grill ran out of propane just after the burgers and brats were placed on the grill. A new tank arrived very quickly after we notified the management company.

North house was undersold and over delivered.

We have stayed at several VRBO or HomeAway places and they all have been good experiences but they are usually a little bit of a let down once you get there because the pictures and descriptions make it look better than actual. Not the North house. This was a beautiful house on a quiet secluded property that was in the middle of the island between downtown and the parks. Service was great too as we had to pump out the holding tank while we were there - no issues. We also didn’t have water pressure issue at all. Master bedroom and bath were better than what we have at home. Played cards every night in the screened in porch as the bugs could get bad at times. So peaceful - We will be back!

Had issues with low water pressure throughout stay

Very beautiful property that the listing did not do it justice. The only problem I had was that the water pressure was very low to the point where it was completely difficult to take a shower Or do dishes.

Such a gem!

It is more beautiful than the pictures. Such a lovely retreat. Water pressure is a low, but I suppose that is part of island life. I hope to return in all the seasons!

First Time on Madeline Island

We were not aware that cell coverage was so spotty and the need to have a healthy dose of insect repellent was required. The only thing about the property was I wish there was a vacuum cleaner or possibly a broom since the grass was cut while we were there.
