10/10 Excellent

"Really nice seafront hotel, large but very well maintained with very helpful staff. Our room was described as partial sea view, but it was pretty much a whole seat view. The only downside to the room was that there wasn't enough comfortable seating on the balcony. The built in bench was sloping and uncomfortable. Breakfast was great, and the staff very friendly and helpful."

"The location and facilities were absolutely wonderful but the service was some of the worst I’ve seen at a luxury property. Upon arrival we were told by three different employees our room would be ready shortly on multiple occasions and that they were asking the cleaning team to “double rush” our room. Ultimately, the room was not available until 45 minutes after the official check in time. Then when we got to our room we wanted to take a shower as we had a long travel day including a red eye flight. Our room had no towels and we had to ask 3 different times for the staff to bring towels to our room. Additionally, our suitcases were not brought to our room until 2 hours after we were in the room. When our suitcases were brought down it was discovered the staff had lost one of our suitcases. They then figured out they left the suitcase in the vehicle during the valet process. Their response was “at least we did not lose it.”Not exactly 5 star service. The property had an expansion in June 2025 (stay was in May 2026) and it felt clear they still had not recovered from the increased guest activity. No chairs available at the pool or beach on day 1. The workers felt incredibly confused and overwhelmed and it was clear there was no manager on site with any authority. Each step along the way it felt as if the hotel staff did not want to go the “real” manager to explain the situation and take accountability or make it right. The price reflects luxury but the service is lackluster."

"Unbelievably shocking place. The reception closes for 3 hours everyday. If you to wait around like an idiot for 3 hours if you come during those hours. It’s a 2 star dump- don’t waste your time. I also wanted to leave my bags there while I went to the store etc. they shut it down at 12 noon. I went at 12.15 to ask if I could just leave my bags for a couple of hours- they refused. Absolutely zero customer service or hospitality. Avoid this place. Do yourself a favour"

"Fantastic stay at Château de Berne. The staff went above and beyond from check-in to check-out, the amenities were top-notch, and the on-site activities made it unforgettable. Mountain biking through the vineyard and wine safari were truly amazing as well as the dinner at the property's restaurant Le Jardin. Looking forward to coming back!"

"We had an absolute fabulous time at Mercure Frejus. We received outstanding service from Carole, she went above and beyond our expectations. She did everything to make our stay extraordinarily comfortable. Carole we can't thank you enough. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Positives as follows; Excellent views from the balcony, Rooms very comfortable. Great bathroom and nice shower. Pool side loungers very comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Over nice hotel ambience. Direct access to a beautiful clean beach. Excellent location within frejus. Great nearby location to go for morning Jog. I would definitely stay here again if I was to return to Frejus. Thank.you Carole and the team once again for the exceptionally warm service."
